Tony's POV

**************************************

Thoughts raced my head in a confusing and painful jumble. Flashes of pain in my chest. The series of events that lead up to me coming to the party late. Only to see her there. Was that what that file had been about? The one Fury wouldn't let me look at. Is that why Steve and Nicole had raided that island in the Bermuda triangle? Had they found her and not told me?

I woke myself up with my own angry yell. I sat up quickly and swung my feet overr the side of the bed. Examining my surroundings made me relax. We were aboard the helicarrier again. Previous events unfolded in my mind and I began to make sense of them. There could only be one thing to do. Find out where she was.

I got up and pulled on some clothes as quickly as possible. Leaving my room with only socks on. I walked down the hall briskly to the command center. Turning the corner to see everyone sitting at the big round table. My eyes scanned over their glum faces. I squinted at them suspiciously. I noticed Fury wasn't sitting at the head of the table. I heard voices yelling, I stopped and surveyed them all standing around the table.

"This is wrong!" exclaimed Steve, throwing his hands in the air "She called them off! We owe her a curtesy..."

"We dont 'owe' her anything," said Natasha shaking her head "She didn't call them off. They left her because she turned on them."

"Exactly." Said Bruce nodding his head, his salt and pepper hair falling out of place. "She turned on them for us. She at least deserves a different method of interrogation. This is barbaric."

"And what do you think Tony would say?" Asked Nicole, leaning on the table "She did the exact same thing to him! Its called just desserts ladys and gentlemen,"

"What so you're saying she deserves to be tortured?" Asked Bruce, heatedly "They are doing far worse things to her in there than she ever did to him."

"You should all get over yourselves," commented Clint, sitting back in his chair leisurely "This isn't any of your business. You sticking in your opinions isn't going to matter."

"The hell its not!" said Steve slamming his fist down "I am all for justice, but this? This is not justice! This is something I would expect from morally inept idiots but S.H.I.E.L.D? I wont stand for it."

"Well then sit down for it," shrugged Clint

Steve looked at him angrily and an awkward silence filled the room. I took that as my cue to enter. I walked up between Steve and Thor. Thor looked down at me, his eye brows pushed together with concern.

"I agree with Steve," Jacqueline spoke up "This is not right. Their handling of this is completely out of line. She should be spoken with. Not..."

"What?" I interjected "Not what?"

She stared at me intenesely for a moment. Quite suddenly she sat down and looked at her hands in her lap. As if she had over stepped her bounds.

"No really," I said "I want to know. We value your opinion just as much as anyone else's here,"

"Not my place," She shrugged

"Tony, we were just discussing Evangeline," said Bruce "I'm sure you're aware that she has been found."

He seemed to be treading carefully with me. Lets be realistic. Its not like I'm him and could blow up at any moment. I'm a controlled human being. Granted, barely, at the moment. Yet still. I could handle what they had to say. Even though I already knew what was happening. I wanted to hear it from their mouths before I went off.

"I saw her at the ware house with the rest of you," I nodded "Were you all as shocked as I was?"

A few of them averted their eyes. Staring intently at the cracks on the floor or the panes of glass in the ceiling.

"I thought not," I said, smiling and shaking my head at them "Funny how that works. Thinking people are your friends and then they turn around and do this."

"It was our orders, Tony," Said Steve, looking up shamefully "What would you have us do?"

"Wow, thats a tough one Cap'n I gotta hand it to you. Real brain buster you got yourself there," I glared "Oh,you know. I would have just not followed them. I was unaware that Fury was god now,"

"There is no excuse," Said Jacqueline, rising from her seat again "We should have told you. But that isnt the issue right now. The issue is how they are handling her. She may be a criminal, but even I was treated with more respect. I was a much worse classification than her."

"A criminal? Is that all she is to you people? She is a person, someone who... A person. A person I knew and cared about. That alone should stop you all from making that assumption." I growled

"She is a criminal!" Cried Natasha "Are you aware of her activity Stark? Then how can you know what she is? Person, or that thing sitting in the interogation room,"

"And what were you once?" I retorted "What do you think would have happened to you if Clinty dearest had thought of you like that?"

"She must face justice," rumbled Thor "It is not our place to dedicide how she serves this."

"Bullshit" I exclaimed "This is a team. We are not employees. I work for myself and my employee will suffer the consquences I choose! Where is she?!"

"Room 316" answered Bruce quitley

I turned and started off toward the room. It was just down the hall way. It wouldnt take long to get there. The others began to follow me. I glanced back and went into and all out sprint. Watching the doors on each side pass. Looking for the specific number. Their voies filled the halls behind me, but I didnt care. For once I agreed with Steve. This wasnt justified.

I slid to a halt outside the door. Using the door jam to stop myself. I tried the handle, it wouldnt budge. I kicked at it several times and it burst open. There she was. Her nose was bandaged and her face was cut in several places. She had a large cut on her forehead that was turning green.

Anger grew like a baloon inside my chest. My fists clenched and my muscles flexed. I was about to burst with anger. I stomped forward and glared at Fury as I threw a punch at him.

Cliff hanger! haha I know it sucks... it wouldnt be but my ma is making me go to bed so thats the best way I can finish it at this point.
