Taehyung arrived home with Soo Hee, who immediately ran upstairs to change into her comfy clothes. She had left some clothes here since she visited often, practically making the place her second home.
Meanwhile, Taehyung went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. As he busied himself with the food, he heard light footsteps descending the stairs. Turning with a smile, he saw Soo Hee, holding a notebook in her hand, heading to the dining table.
She sat down, opened the notebook, and began tapping the pen against her temple, her brow furrowed in concentration. A tough math equation was giving her trouble.
Noticing her struggle, Taehyung walked over with a gentle smile and sat beside her.
"Is it tough?" he asked softly.
Soo Hee looked at him and pouted, nodding. "Yes, Uncle. This math is a headache!" She sighed and pushed the notebook toward him.
Taehyung chuckled, glancing at the question. Then he looked back at her, noticing her exaggerated pout. "This is actually an easy one. Let me show you how to solve it."
Her face lit up. "Really? Thanks, Uncle!"
Taehyung patiently explained the steps, and soon Soo Hee was grinning ear to ear. She hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, Uncle! You made it so simple!" she exclaimed, quickly returning to her seat to solve the next problem.
"Tomorrow is my test, and I’m sure I’ll score the highest!" she declared confidently.
"I have no doubt," Taehyung replied with pride. "My girl is intelligent."
Soo Hee beamed at the compliment. She loved being praised for her academic achievements, as she was the class topper.
When her preparations were complete, she helped Taehyung set the dining table. As they sat down to eat, Soo Hee dug into the noodles he had prepared.
"This is delicious, Uncle!" she said enthusiastically.
Taehyung laughed. "I know I’m not as good as Aera, but thanks for the sweet words, my girl."
The two continued their meal with lighthearted conversation. Soo Hee shared stories from her day, and Taehyung listened attentively.
She brought up a boy who had tried to propose to her that day, only for her to turn him down.
"Was it wrong, Uncle?" she asked, pouting.
"No, my girl," Taehyung reassured her. "If you don’t like someone, it’s better to be honest. You did the right thing."
Soo Hee nodded. "He’s a nice boy, but I don’t feel that way about him. I just see him as a friend."
"That’s perfectly fine. Focus on your studies for now. Love and crushes can wait. For now, school is the most important thing."
"That’s why I rejected him," Soo Hee said confidently.
Taehyung smiled warmly. "That’s my smart girl."
As they finished eating, a thought struck Taehyung.
"Soo Hee," he began.
"Yes, Uncle?"
"What about that boy, Jungkook? The one you mentioned always gets bullied?"
Soo Hee sighed. "He’s so quiet. He doesn’t talk to anyone."
"That’s probably because he’s scared," Taehyung pointed out. "You should try to help him."
