After the teenager's soft words, Taehyung couldn’t help but stare at him. The innocence and sincerity in Jungkook’s eyes were undeniable, and it was clear he truly cared. Taehyung wasn’t wrong in thinking that Jungkook wanted to take responsibility for his baby—his every action spoke of genuine concern.

Taehyung slowly nodded, gently pulling his wrist free from the younger’s grasp. Jungkook immediately looked down, his voice quiet as he murmured an apology for holding Taehyung’s wrist without permission.

Without saying anything, Taehyung returned to his seat beside Jungkook, who had shifted his focus towards the kitchen, seemingly waiting for someone to notice the plate of chopped vegetables in front of him. Taehyung observed this and called out, "Soo Hee."

The girl emerged from the kitchen, her face reflecting confusion. “Yes, uncle?”

He handed her the plate of chopped vegetables. “Take this to Jimin,” he said.

Soo Hee nodded and turned her attention to Jungkook. “Jungkook, why are you sitting here? Come with me—I’ll show you my cooking skills!” she exclaimed, her excitement lighting up her face.

Jungkook looked up at her uncertainly as she reached for his hand. “Come on, let’s go,” she urged, pulling him to his feet. Jungkook hesitated briefly but, not wanting to seem rude, gave a small nod and followed her into the kitchen.

Taehyung rose from his chair as well, his curiosity piqued. Entering the kitchen, he found Jungkook standing awkwardly in the middle of the kitchen while Soo Hee enthusiastically assisted Jimin with the cooking. Every now and then, she turned to Jungkook to explain something or seek his opinion, but Jungkook merely nodded in response, visibly uncomfortable.

The reason for his discomfort was clear to Taehyung—Jimin, the short yet intimidating man next to Soo Hee, was glaring at Jungkook with a sharpness that could cut through steel. Jungkook, naturally, didn’t know how to handle the intense gaze and seemed to shrink in on himself. After all, Jimin wasn’t just good at cooking—he was also terrifying when he wanted to be.

Taehyung smiled softly at the scene in the kitchen. He stepped closer, the aroma of the food making him take a deep breath. “How much longer will it take?” he asked, peering at the food steaming in the pot.

“Just fifteen minutes more,” Jimin replied with a small smile, focusing on the pan in front of him.

Taehyung nodded and turned his gaze toward Jungkook, who was still standing awkwardly in the corner. “Why are you standing here? It’s hot in here. Come outside,” Taehyung said gently.

“Good question,” Jimin said, not looking up from his cooking. “Why is he here?”

“I brought him here to show off my cooking skills!” Soo Hee chimed in with a pout, crossing her arms.
