I woke up to the sound of cars honking and the sun peaking through the window. Reaching for my phone, I read 8am. That's way too early for me, but with all the cars, there's no way to fall back asleep.

You see, my best friend Alli moved to New York right when high school ended with only one plan,'Make it on Broadway'. This was the first time I would have seen her in 3 years, and it's her big opening week.

I rub my eyes and decide to get ready for the day. Looking through my suitcase, I pull out a cute black skirt and a off white sweater. I look at the time 9:15am how has it been a hour. I decided to call Alli, hoping she'd awnser. 1 ring, 2 rings, 3 rings... she awnsers!

"Alli!" I cheered that she picked up her phone.

"Y/n!" She screamed back. "Please tell me you made it into the city."

"I made it in last night. That's why I called. Hopefully, you can take some time out of your day to meet up with me?" I ask.

"Of course! When and where?" She sounded so happy.

"30 ish for breakfast, and you pick the place, I know nothing." I said, gathering my Wallet.

"I have the perfect place! Where are you staying?" She asked.

"I'm not sure the name. But it wasn't full of mold and didn't cost a years pay." I laughed. "Just send me the address, and I'll be there in 30." I said.

"Here I'm sending you my address, and we will walk togeather, there's a stunning cafe down the block from me." She said before hanging up the phone.

I Suppose now I'm on my own again. Making sure I grabbed all I needed, I started to leave my room. Walking to the elevator, I wait and wait. Finally, the door opens, and I step in. I see a tall man with brown hair and glasses. He gives me a nod and a smile, so I return the gesture. Reaching floor 1, we both exist and go separate ways. I looked down at my phone, and Alli finally sent her address. Into maps I go, it's a 40-minute walk... time to use a cab, I guess. Walking out of the main doors, I stop on the sidewalk and call Alli again.

"What's the best way to your house?" I ask, looking around.

"Probably Subway or cab." She says laughing.

I look around some more before replying, "Okay then..." I hung up before she could laugh at me more. I check my phone once again. I'm facing the wrong way and quickly turn around, running directly into someone knocking him down and spilling the drink he held.

"I'm so sorry!" I gasped, trying to help the man back up. He didn't seem angry at me but the situation.

"It's okay, really," he said, smiling.

"No, it's not. Your shirt is all ruined, and your drink is gone." I said.

"I can buy a new drink and a new shirt." He laughed. "You're not from the city, are you?" He asked.

"How could you tell?" I finally look up at him. He has a hat on, but some of his hair escapes from the front. Brown eyes, brown hair, and facial hair. He looked big and scary, but he talked so sweetly.

"You're saying sorry for running into me." He laughed. No one born and raised here, does that."

"That would be a giveaway then. Please let me do something in order to apologize for this." I begged.

"Hmmmm, how about you give me your number and I'll text you when I think of something." He smiles, holding out his hand for my phone.

"Giving my number to strangers on day one, look at me trying to get kidnapped." I laughed, giving him my phone. The contact was Jshlatt, strange but okay. I texted him saying 'hi' so he knew it was me
"I'm so sorry, but I do need to hurry to my friends." We say goodbyes, and I finally get the cab. My phone beeped shortly after. A message from Jshlatt
