The walls granted people one hundred years of peace.

They were allowed to forget the fear of being ruled over and the humiliation of being trapped in a birdcage.

However, when the Titans broke through that wall, humanity was thrust into  frantic battle.

And though it cost them a great number of lives, both military and civilian, the humans learned of Titans in their midst and succeeded in capturing one of them, Annie Leonhart, in the fifth year since the breach of the wall.

However, humanity had no time to rest.

A new threat was already upon them.

Annie swept her leg out, causing the soldiers on the ground to jump onto rooftops.

"She broke free?" Mikasa questioned.

"We needed more traps." Hanji scoffed. "Don't let her escape! Follow her!"

Sakura's eyes darkened as she sprung into the air, her fellow soldiers around her, dodging Annie's attacks.

Sakura let out a sigh of relief as another flash of yellow appeared in the sky and Eren appeared, moments later, punching Annie straight in the face.

"Eren!" Armin exclaimed.

"This time, it seems he's retaining control." Hanji inspected as they watched Eren chase after Annie, who was running for the walls.

"Yes." Armin agreed. "But Eren's never managed to beat the Female Titan."

Hanji turned to look at Jean, Armin, and Sakura. 

"Now that he's a Titan, he must be prepared to fight." Jean commented. "He won't go down so easily -"

"Willpower alone isn't enough in battle." Armin cut in. "You know that, Jean! Defeating Annie will require far more..."

"An open area!"

"The Female Titan's heading for an open area!"

"We can't use Maneuver Gear there!"

"Split up and work your way around to the other side!" Hanji ordered.

Sakura nodded as she and the other soldiers did as they were told.

Eren roared as he went to punch Annie, though she blocked it with her elbow. Eren was able to grab her leg, throwing her over some buildings before he rushed to grab her again.

"What is this?"

Annie took off again as Eren crashed into a building.

"Squad leader, even if we capture the Female Titan, they might destroy the entire city first!" Moblit worried.

"We do it, regardless." Hanji told him. "That was Erwin's decision. Be ready to capture her."

Sakura watched as Eren bit down on Annie's leg, and Annie continuously pounded her arm onto Eren's head.

Once she was done, Annie continued her trek, running to the wall.

Eren let out a roar, his body on fire, following her. He jumped on top of her, bringing her to the ground.

"That's..." Hanji trailed off.

"Eren!" Mikasa called.

"Don't!" Hanji stopped her. "Right now, we don't know if Eren can recognize you."

Mikasa sighed, watching as Annie struggled against Eren, who brought his hand on top of her mouth, squeezing it, making blood splatter everywhere.

Annie let out a roar of protest, kicking Eren away as she jumped onto the wall.
