We got in the car, and I started driving towards our office.

"Jaan, what happened?" I asked Ayaan as he was lost in thought, gazing out of the window. But he still didn't move or look at me.

"Jaan."

"Jaan," I called him a second time.

"Baby," I called him again.

"Ayaan," I yelled his name louder, getting restless at his ignorance.

"Y-yes, Tigress, what happened?" he asked, looking confused.

"Nothing has happened to me, Jaan, but I'm sure something has happened to you," I said. He looked at me with his black eyes and shook his head no.

"Nothing happened, Tigress," he assured me, but the uncertainty in his voice hinted that something or someone was bothering my man.

And someone bothering my man doesn't sit well with me. It seems like someone has a death wish.

"Jaan, don't lie. I know something is bothering you," I said, driving with one hand while my other hand caressed his cheek.

"No, love, nothing is bothering me," he said.

"Then where were you lost?" I asked. He took my hand, which was caressing his cheek, to his lips and pressed my palm against his soft, warm lips.

"I wasn't lost anywhere; my thoughts revolve around you only, Tigress," he said. I blushed, forgetting everything else.

"Still, Jaan, if something or someone is bothering you, I will make that person regret it immediately," I said, my thoughts clouded with images of eliminating the threat and finding peace in hearing their groans of pain, which gave me pleasure in easing my husband's worries.

"Tigress, don't you think you're sounding like me?" he said, chuckling while I pouted.

"Karbooja karbooje ko dekh kar rang badalta hai," I said, laughing at him while he gave me a "are you serious" look.

"Ye sab ka toh pata nahi, par aap pe humaare pyaar rang jaroor chad gaya hai," he said, and I blushed at his flirting.

"Dekhna kitna gehra rang chada hai," he said, and I averted my gaze back to the road.

I stopped the car at a café that serves Ayaan's favorite black coffee. He says they make the perfect coffee, better than anyone else.

"Tigress, why did you stop the car? Is something wrong?" he asked, and I gave him a big smile.

"Look to your left, Jaan," I said. His head snapped to the left side.

"Why are we at my favorite café?" he asked, and I looked at him in disbelief.

"We're here for you, obviously. I told you that today you are going to get king treatment," I said, and he replied with an "Oh" and his cheeky grin.

"But Tigress, you know there's no need for you to do this," he said. I looked at his face, took his warm palms in my cold ones, and brushed my finger over them.
