I arrived at my warehouse and saw Adi and Vinay already waiting for me. I got out of my car and walked over to them.
Adi came toward me and hugged me, just like he used to after we won our football matches back in college. I reciprocated, and he studied my face.
"Adi... Riddhima died," I said, my voice low and hoarse. The weight of guilt was crushing me.
"Riddhima ma'am died? How?" Vinay asked, shocked. "As far as I remember, she was in New York, under Kiana ma'am's special protection with her bodyguard, Richard."
"Richard and everyone else protecting Riddhima in New York are dead. We don't know who did it," I told them.
We walked into the warehouse and sat down. I explained everything—how I sent Michael to New York to bring Riddhima, how he lied to Kiana on the phone, and how I was on the verge of losing the love of my life. They listened intently.
"Adi, I received another letter today. It included another letter along with the 'D'—it's 'A,'" I said. He looked at me, both shocked and worried.
"Ayaan, two letters aren't enough to draw any solid conclusions," he said, and I nodded in agreement.
"But Adi, the letter clearly states that his next move will come with the next letter, and he's threatened to harm what's most precious to me," I said, thinking about my tigress. Even the mere thought of her being hurt was unbearable.
"And you know the letters I wanted to show Kiana? They were gone, which means someone entered my office. But with such tight security, not even a fly should be able to get in," I said, raking my hands through my hair in frustration.
"Ayaan, stay calm. First, let's grab that bastard Michael and interrogate him," Adi suggested, and I nodded.
"Sir, why don't we check the CCTV footage to see if anyone got in?" Vinay suggested.
"I already checked the CCTV footage. A few days ago, I transferred the access to my phone so I could monitor my office. The footage from a specific time was deleted, and that was when Kiana and I were... resting," I said, recalling what we were doing in our room earlier. They both nodded in understanding.
"First, let's hunt down Michael," I said, and Vinay nodded.
Vinay started tracking Michael, and soon we found his location—near Kapoor Mansion. Adi and I got into our cars, and Vinay rode with Adi. Within 15 minutes, we arrived, thanks to my McLaren. I slipped my pistol into my pocket for safety. The location was quite secluded, and his phone showed that he was somewhere inside a forest. We walked, searching through the darkness. We considered turning on our phone torches, but if that bastard tried to run, we'd lose him. So, we kept them off.
"This is the location, sir," Vinay said to me. I looked around, but all I could see was darkness.
"Michael isn't here," Adi said, glancing around.
