(A/N) I'm so sorry this update has come so late, I've been busy with studying and seeing family. I'll be posting everyday for the next week though and will be working on some more stories, possibly JJK related as that's my new obsession haha~
Anyways, please enjoy this chapter and I'm sorry for its late delivery 💕💕
____________________________________"I really appreciate you both helping me. " Sunhee says with a grateful smile, balancing a box against her cheek.
"I've moved in already and Seungmin's too lazy to help. So I am." Jeongin grins, holding the door open, letting Changbin and Sunhee walk through, several boxes stacked up in each of their hands.
"Thank you, Jeongin!" She sings gently, walking through and remaining eye contact, his eyes creasing slightly before letting Changbin through.
The weird little trio make their way down the stairs before packing the boxes into the delivery van JYP had ordered for her as an apology for not informing her on the fact she is moving.
Sunhee makes her way into the field of view of the two boys, "Are you too good to finish packing this up whilst I go lock my apartment up and... say goodbye? Only if it won't hold us up though."
"Of course, go do that." Changbin pats her back, as Jeongin calls out to her, "Don't forget the toilet seat!"
"It's already packed!" She waves back, entering her apartment building.
After making her way up the stairs, she enters her own little flat. Her first flat.
Coming from Korea and her family's tiny house, with only her looking after her brother, she had struggled alone. With no one to care for, no one to help grow up. Sunoo had done his growing up and then she was just... alone.
Although she now stands alone in her empty apartment, just like seven years ago, it's not the same. She has people now, and that's all she wants.
All she needs.
Taking her final step away, she allows her fingers to graze over the hardwood of the door frame and the soft paint of her walls, noticing tiny splashes of hair dye from when she had dyed her friend's hair pink a while ago, "Goodbye, memories. I'll see you in my next nostalgic depressive episode." She waves and locks the door before putting it in a safe for the landlord to collect in an hour.
With a heavy heart, Sunhee makes her way down the stairs for the last time, just like she'd made her way down the stairs to go to JYP, to go see her friends, to eat, to go shopping, to go train. But now she'll be doing that with her friends. Now, she'll walk to school with her friends, to work with her friends. No more walking alone with her thoughts. Now she has the best friend she's had in years.
"Jeongin!" She shouts, banging on the passenger window of the van, "Get out, I need to get in!"
Jeongin steps out and holds the door open, allowing Sunhee to climb into the middle seat besides Changbin. Moments after setting down, Jeongin then squashes in next to her, on the other side, leaving her little room to maneuver. No matter how much wiggling she does, trying to make some non-existent room, she fails to find any.
After a minute, she crosses her legs to avoid touching both Jeongin and Changbin's legs, at the same time Changbin pulls out of his space, nudging Sunhee gently to show her that the apartment building is now just outside the window, for what Sunhee can only presume to be the last time in a while.
"Bye, flat." She waves, arms folded with a solemn look on her face.
Yet again, she tries to make some room for herself, wiggling her legs slightly. With all the money he makes, could JYP not have afforded to buy a van with just a LITTLE more legroom?
Noticing her fidgeting, Jeongin leans down to grab her legs and pulls them up and onto his lap. When Sunhee looks up at him, her heart racing wildly in her chest, it can't help but skip a beat at the fact that he's simply looking out of the window.
As the van bumps up and down the road, Sunhee can't help but steal a couple of glances from Jeongin, who stayed softly silent, holding her calves tight on his lap.
When Sunhee leans her head on the back of her chair, she can't resist throwing Jeongin a little smile to test if he can even see her. Sensing her, he clears his throat and reaches for the window switch, a sheepish smile on his face.
The cool autumn wind tackles the rising heat in his cheeks, forcing them to cool down a little.
Noticing this, Sunhee can't help but giggle.
"Bit cold for an open window, isn't it, Jeongin?" Sunhee stretches forward, pressing her chest to her thighs to bring the window back up. In an attempt to hide his cheeks, Jeongin leans his face on his hands, "Mm, yeah."
"Mm, yeah. You're so grumpy!" She teases, "Is it 'cause you have to live with me now?"
"No, sorry, I'm just tired. " he yawns
"Don't use Felix's excuse!" Sunhee laughs and pushes his shoulder gently but gets no reaction out of Jeongin, who can't help but feel bitterly unimpressed with her comment.
"You'll have to learn, Sunhee," Changbin leans back coolly, "they're always tired. Or hungry. Like children. And that's when me and Chan have to care for them."
"Like their mothers?" Sunhee suggests, pinching Jeongin's cheek, causing him to smile again.
"Yes. It's tiring." Changbin sighs, leaning his head on the wheel, coming to a stop in the traffic.
"You love us really though, hyung!" Jeongin gently slaps his muscle, a grin on his face.
"Some of you." Changbin laughs and swerves the car to the left, forcing Sunhee to lurch forward into Jeongin's chest. Startled by her sudden movement, his instincts kick in and he grabs her face, stopping her from hitting the door.
Pulling her face up, Sunhee can't do anything but stare at Jeongin in complete confusion, "You just grabbed my face."
Jeongin nods, not a single thought in his brain, "I saved you."
"Saved me? Do I look like a basketball? You should feel lucky I'm not wearing makeup!" She leans over him and checks herself in the mirror before turning back to him, "Mm, little basketballer?"
"Mm, little basketball." Jeongin teases, guiding her with his arm to lean back in his seat.
"Shut up." She pushes his arm gently, a little smile flickering onto his face.
Only half an hour later, Sunhee finds herself in the middle of her new room, watching Jeongin rip the tape off of her I am box. Discarding it on the floor, he turns to her, "There, final box."
"Don't look in that! It's all my clothes." she shoves her hand in front of his face, just like he did to her. with a gentle hand he pulls it away, "your wardrobe won't be as good without that green dress."
"I've got lots of other nice dresses!" she spends a minute digging around in the box to find her nice black dress, desperate to prove Jeongin wrong. "See, look. This one's cute!" she holds it against herself and pulls a little pose. Jeongin takes the dress and holds it against himself, "Does it suit me?" he jokes before folding the dress up and placing it back in the box.
"Lots of guys wear dresses, and I happen to be attracted to it. so careful who you hold up dresses to." she smiles, poking his chest.
"Whats that Sunhee, always and only wear dresses around you." his lips curl into a smile as his head tilts down to her.
"Theres no need." she steps a little closer to him.
Feeling his heart race, he steps back, fearing what might happen if she gets too close.
"I'll leave you to unpack." he steps back again and points his thumb to the door, his breath hitching in his throat.
"Oh." she says and watches as he exits.
Sunhee collapses onto her mattress on the floor and covers her distorted face with her pillow.
God that was so embarrassing!
