Animated porridge
In the Primeval Earth segment, you see waves of what's supposed to be lava and water.
In order to film that, Disney mixed some mud with other sloshy liquids, including porridge, to get the effect right.
Once they had that handled, they enhanced it with animation, which is what good Disney movies always did.
They used porridge to animate lava!
