Walt called a composer.
The classical piece The Rite of Spring was originally composed by Igor Stravinsky, who was the movie's only composer still alive in 1940.
Since the piece hadn't been around yet for more than a hundred years, Walt called Igor to ask his permission to add it to the film.
Igor actually did more than give permission. He offered to completely recompose the piece specially for the movie.
But Walt didn't accept it and kept the original.
Ultimately, Igor hated Disney's interpretation of The Rite of Spring. You know, the segment with the dinosaurs.
Man, original writers need to loosen up a little.
