DAPHNE'S CONCERN FOR CRISTINA refuses to cease in the days after where the Yang spends her time cooped up in a hospital room and recovering from the surgery she had endured. Although, Cristina is quick to switch back into her old self with her bossy demeanour and demanding orders that she return to work after only a few days of recovery. Her mother, too, doesn't seem to aid in the quick-process of Cristina feeling better — in fact, Daphne's sure she's making the situation worse.
Her, Meredith, Izzie and George plant themselves around a table in Joe's bar and sip on a few drinks after a tiresome and hectic shift, as it usually is in Seattle Grace Hospital. Daphne raises her third vodka-soda to her lips and figures she should stop before she gets too ahead of herself, not having the desire to wake up with a hangover in the early hours of the morning. Sloppiness is not something Miranda Bailey is fond of and Daphne does not want to get on her bad side any more than her interns already have.
Daphne casts her head to the side and catches sight of Alex, throwing darts onto a dartboard on his lonesome. He catches her pointed stare and and she smiles lightly, against her own will somewhat, and he hesitantly smiles back. Shifting in her seat back to the three surgical interns she spends most of her time with, Daphne fervently ignores the feeling on the back of her neck of someone watching her.
She switches the topic to the gaping hole in their group, "So, how is Cristina?"
"I don't know," George shrugged, fiddling with some nuts. "She seemed fine when I left."
"Nobody goes what she went through and is totally over it by now," Izzie scoffs, unable to figure out how Cristina could not be affected with a miscarriage.
