DECIPHERING BETWEEN THE IDEA of lust and love could be a fickle thing to figure out. Especially when you've never known the difference. Daphne is sure she's never been in love. Maybe with her college boyfriend, but he made her feel so much she could never find love in the midst of it. But true love, the inescapable feeling that follows you everywhere because you're so encapsulated with another and you can't do a single thing about it?

Yeah, Daphne's never had that. And she's certainly not about to start feeling it with Elliot Reynolds.

But, for the meantime, she entertains it. Likely because she's still far too afraid to do anything otherwise and set him in his place, telling him firmly that she's finished with their relationship, but she hasn't. She continues to tell herself that she will, but she finds him in her bed each night, which isn't quite how her last breakups have gone. But, then again, her last boyfriends didn't tend to hit her.

She grabs her t-shirt from where it's been discarded on the floor and rubs at her eyes tiredly, having been kept up most of the night with Elliot. It's not that she doesn't enjoy sex with him, but he doesn't seem to grasp that when she's simply laying there, the spark has fizzled out and Daphne wants sleep. Yet they carry on, and Daphne's heading to work on four hours worth of sleep and every inch of her aching, but at least Elliot isn't complaining.

She slides her underwear up her legs and rises on unsteady feet, creeping out of the bedroom and desperate for a shower, to clean the feeling of Elliot off of her body. Shutting the door as quietly as she can behind her, her eyes scan the landing of the house, where George and Meredith slip out of their bedrooms too.
