After the day and fight at Neibolt. Everyone had basically split up. Practically no one talked to each other anymore. It was like the losers club were now strangers. The kids would sometimes walk past each other on the street with not even a wave, a smile, or a hi. Just dirty looks as they passed by.

It was Sunday and Jade was in her room, making sure she had everything packed for California. She would leave tomorrow early in the morning and spend the whole week in California with her best friend Carly. Carly and her mother always had open arms for Jade. They met in pre k when they shared their snacks with each other on the first day. And they have been inseparable ever since. Well at least not until Jade moved.

Jade zipped up her big and packed luggage and sat on her bed. She looked over to her vanity mirror to see the necklace the sat perfectly on her chest and around her neck. She remembered the night where she told Patrick she was going to be gone in Cali for a whole week.

Flashback

On a Saturday afternoon, while Jade's parents were gone at work. Patrick had came over to her house. They sat on the couch watching tv. "Can't believe this is the first time that I'm actually anywhere in your house but your room". Patrick said. Jade laughed. "I know right".

"You know in a few weeks I'm leaving to California for a week"

"For?"

"Just to visit friends and stuff"

"Guess I'll have to be sneaking into your room more often before you trip"

"You're acting like I'm going to be gone for months" Patrick shrugged.

End of flashback

A knock was heard on Jade's door. "Come in!". She says. Her mom came into the room. "All packed?". Jade nodded. "Yep!".

Her mom,Alice, sat next to Jade on her bed. "I've meant to ask you about your necklace and that pendant". Alice said. Shit. Jade still hasn't told her mom that she was in a relationship. But I guess the truth comes out now.

"Yeah mom I've also been meaning to talk to you about this...". She began. "I have a boyfriend..." Alice's eye widened. "Honey are you serious? Why'd you never tell me??".

Jade shrugged. "I don't know. But I'm not sure if it really matters anymore as much as it did before.."

"Why honey..?". She looked at her mom's brown eyes. "Cause he's missing.." Jade said very quietly but loud enough to hear. Alice cause see the tears forming into her daughter's eyes. She gave her daughter a hug and rubbed her back. "Patrick... he's missing".

Alice has seen the poster. But who hasn't. Who hasn't seen all of the young kids missing persons poster.

Alice let go of Jade. "It's ok Jade, they'll find him"

"I hope so.."
