Jungwon & Soohee
The library was quiet, the only sounds being the soft rustling of pages and the occasional hum of the air conditioner. Soohee and Jungwon sat side by side at a wooden table, surrounded by stacks of books and notes. It was one of their many study sessions, but today, Soohee felt a mix of nervousness and determination. She wanted to see if there was something more between them, a spark beyond their student-teacher relationship.
As they worked through a particularly dense passage of literature, Soohee decided to test the waters. She leaned in a bit closer, her shoulder brushing against his.
"Jungwon," she said softly, her voice tinged with a playful tone, "you're really good at explaining this stuff. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Jungwon glanced up from his notes, a faint blush creeping up his neck. "I'm glad I can help, Soohee. You're a quick learner."
She smiled, batting her eyelashes slightly. "Only because I have such a great teacher."
Jungwon cleared his throat, shifting in his seat. "Well, let's see if we can tackle this next section. It's a bit tricky."
Soohee suppressed a giggle, enjoying the effect her words had on him. As they continued working, she tried another approach. She reached across the table to grab a book, her hand brushing against his. Jungwon's eyes flickered with surprise, but he quickly recovered, focusing back on the text.
"Oops, sorry," she said, her smile widening. "Didn't mean to invade your space."
"It's fine," Jungwon replied, though his voice sounded a bit strained. "Now, about this passage..."
Soohee bit her lip, trying to stifle her laughter. She decided to push a little further. As Jungwon explained a concept, she rested her chin on her hand, gazing at him intently.
"You have a really nice voice, you know that?" she said, her tone sincere. "It's calming."
Jungwon's cheeks flushed, and he looked down at his notes, clearly flustered. "Uh, thank you, Soohee. I appreciate that."
She chuckled softly, feeling a thrill of excitement at his reaction. "Just telling the truth. You're a natural teacher."
Jungwon took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "Alright, let's focus on this next part. It's important for the exam."
Soohee nodded, but her mind was already racing with possibilities. She could tell he was affected by her words, even if he tried to hide it. The thought gave her a strange sense of confidence.
As they continued their session, Soohee occasionally dropped subtle compliments and playful comments, each one making Jungwon more flustered. He tried his best to keep the focus on their studies, but Soohee could see the cracks in his professional facade.
When the session finally came to an end, Jungwon closed his book and gave her a slightly strained smile. "I think we made good progress today. You're doing really well."
