Soohee
Soohee lay on her bed, lazily scrolling through her phone, lost in the endless cycle of social media. She knew she should be doing something more productive, but the allure of mindless scrolling was too strong. Suddenly, her phone rang, and Jisoo's name popped up on the caller ID.
"Hey, Jisoo! What's up?" Soohee answered, sounding more enthusiastic than she felt.
"Soohee! There's a party tonight at Minji's place, and everyone's going. You have to come!" Jisoo's voice was buzzing with excitement.
"A party? Tonight?" Soohee hesitated for a moment. "I don't know, Jisoo. I was thinking of just staying in and—"
"Come on, Soohee! It'll be fun. We haven't had a proper night out in ages. Plus, the whole group will be there. You can't miss it!"
Soohee sighed, knowing she couldn't resist Jisoo's persuasion. "Alright, alright. I'll come. What time?"
"Great! Be ready by eight. Ni-ki's picking us up," Jisoo said, clearly pleased with herself.
"Okay, see you then," Soohee replied, ending the call and rolling off her bed. She glanced at the clock and realized she had a couple of hours to get ready.
She rummaged through her closet, trying to find the perfect outfit. After much deliberation, she settled on a cute but comfortable dress that she knew looked good on her. She did her makeup, ensuring it was just the right balance of glam and casual, and then styled her hair.
As she was putting the finishing touches on her look, she heard a car pull up in the driveway. She peeked out the window and saw Ni-ki's car. Grabbing her bag, she headed downstairs and out the door, where her friends were waiting.
"Hey, Soohee! Looking good!" Sunoo called out as she approached the car.
"Thanks, Sunoo," Soohee replied, feeling a little more excited about the night ahead.
"Ready to party?" Ni-ki asked with a grin as she climbed into the back seat.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Soohee said, fastening her seatbelt.
Jisoo turned around from the front seat, a mischievous look in her eyes. "This is going to be epic. Just wait!"
The car ride was filled with laughter and chatter. Sunoo cracked jokes that had everyone in stitches, and Jisoo played DJ, picking the perfect hype songs to get everyone in the party mood.
They arrived at Minji's place, and the house was already buzzing with energy. Music was blaring, lights were flashing, and people were everywhere, dancing, chatting, and just having a good time.
"Let's get this party started!" Ni-ki shouted, leading the way inside.
They made their way through the crowd, greeting friends and grabbing drinks. Soohee started with a simple cocktail, figuring she'd pace herself. But as the night went on, she found herself having more and more fun. Her friends were all in high spirits, and the party atmosphere was contagious.
"Another round?" Sunoo asked, holding up a couple of shots.
"Why not?" Soohee replied, feeling a warm buzz from the alcohol.
They clinked glasses and downed the shots. Soohee felt a rush of warmth spread through her, making her giggle. "Okay, maybe I'm starting to feel it now."
"Lightweight," Jisoo teased, poking her playfully.
"Hey, I can handle my liquor!" Soohee protested, though she was already feeling tipsy.
They danced, laughed, and mingled with the other party-goers. Soohee felt a sense of freedom she hadn't felt in a while. The stresses of school and her secret relationship with Jungwon melted away in the midst of the party chaos.
At one point, Soohee found herself sitting with Ni-ki, Sunoo, and Jisoo, their drinks in hand as they discussed the merits of pineapple on pizza.
"I'm telling you, pineapple on pizza is a crime against humanity," Ni-ki declared, taking a swig of his beer.
"Oh, come on! It's the perfect mix of sweet and savory," Sunoo argued, waving his slice of pizza for emphasis.
"Guys, guys," Soohee interjected, giggling. "Let's just agree to disagree. But for the record, I think it's delicious."
"Thank you!" Sunoo exclaimed, high-fiving Soohee.
The night continued in a blur of laughter, dancing, and more drinks. Soohee's initial plan to stay somewhat sober went out the window as she got caught up in the fun. She found herself taking more shots and cocktails, each one making her feel lighter and more carefree.
At one point, Jisoo grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the dance floor. "Come on, let's dance!"
They moved to the music, their laughter blending with the pulsating beats. Soohee's head was spinning slightly, but she didn't care. She was having too much fun to worry about anything else.
As the night wore on, Soohee realized she was much drunker than she intended to be. She stumbled slightly as she made her way back to the living room, where Ni-ki and Sunoo were engaged in a heated debate about the best fast food chain.
"Burger King is the best, hands down," Ni-ki was saying.
"No way! McDonald's has the best fries," Sunoo argued back.
"You're both wrong," Soohee chimed in, slurring her words a little. "It's all about Taco Bell."
"Alright, that's it," Jisoo laughed, grabbing Soohee's arm. "I think you've had enough to drink for one night."
"But I was just getting started!" Soohee protested, though she couldn't help but laugh.
"Come on, let's get you some water," Jisoo said, leading her to the kitchen.
They found some bottled water, and Soohee gratefully took a few sips. "Thanks, Jisoo. You're the best."
"No problem," Jisoo replied, giving her a hug. "Just want to make sure you're okay."
They rejoined the others, and the party continued. Despite her drunken state, Soohee was having the time of her life. Her friends were all equally inebriated, and their goofy antics kept her laughing all night.
