Jungwon
Jungwon sat at a cozy corner table in his favorite restaurant, surrounded by his closest friends: Heeseung, Jake, Jay, and Sunghoon. The table was filled with laughter and camaraderie as they shared stories and enjoyed their meal.
"Seriously, Jungwon, you should have seen Jay's face when he realized he'd left his phone in the cab," Heeseung recounted, making everyone burst into laughter.
Jungwon chuckled, his mind momentarily drifting away from the day's earlier events. But just as he took another sip of his wine, the restaurant door opened, and in walked Soohee, her parents leading the way. She wore a stunning dress, one that made her look even more captivating than usual.
As her family found their table, Jungwon couldn't help but replay their earlier encounter in his mind, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He sipped his wine again, his eyes following Soohee discreetly.
Soohee hadn't noticed him yet. She sat down gracefully, and as the food arrived, she began eating. Then, as if sensing his gaze, her eyes met his. She froze for a moment, watching him drink his wine. The way his jawline looked so sharp and defined, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed, made her heart race.
Jungwon, feeling the intensity of her gaze, looked over and their eyes locked. He smiled warmly, his eyebrows raising in a silent compliment at her attire. Soohee, caught off guard, blushed and smiled shyly in return.
Just then, her mother's sharp voice broke the moment. "Soohee, why are you so distracted? Focus on your food."
Soohee's smile faded as her mother continued to berate her. "You're always daydreaming. How do you expect to succeed if you can't even pay attention at dinner?"
Jungwon noticed the shift in Soohee's expression, the frown on her face deepening with each word from her mother. His friends continued their conversation, unaware of his distraction, but Jungwon's concern for Soohee grew.
As her family finished their meal and got up to leave, Jungwon saw an opportunity. He excused himself from his friends, pretending to head toward the restroom. As he approached Soohee's table, he deliberately "accidentally" bumped into her.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," he said, his voice full of polite surprise.
Soohee's parents turned around, and her father asked, "Who are you?"
Jungwon smiled warmly, extending his hand. "I'm Yang Jungwon, Soohee's literature teacher. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Soohee's father shook his hand, a bit taken aback. "Ah, Mr. Yang. It's nice to meet you as well."
Her mother, less enthused but still polite, nodded. "Yes, nice to meet you."
Jungwon turned his gaze to Soohee, who looked flustered and shy. He chuckled softly, finding her reaction endearing. "I just wanted to say that Soohee is an exceptional student. She works very hard in my class."
