Embrasse-moi
...
Mom was happy that we had to pick up books about Savannah. She says reading a lot increases your IQ but I haven't noticed a big change. Taylor's mechanics club goes during school this semester so she goes home with one of her friends. I called Mom and told her after baseball I was going to the library to pick up my books because I didn't want her nagging me to do it on the weekend.
The library in our town is huge, like, as big as our school. It's dimly lit, but not too dark, and in between some isles and by the windows there are tables with four chairs and smaller tables with two.
Since it's huge its lined wall to wall with books. Unfortunately, like our school, it has stairs. By the time I'm upstairs I'm literally wheezing. What knowledge in books requires THREE floors?
Apparently the third floor is where the books about Savannah and other destinations are. I think. I'm pretty sure.
I went through a couple isles but I have no clue how libraries work. I started to get annoyed and sat down for a moment so I didn't explode. After a while I stood back up and began looking again. I looked in three more aisles and still didn't find anything.
I gripped onto my shirt silently and sat down across from a corner window, when I saw a boy sitting in a corner reading. I couldn't see him well since his back was to me, but from the look he seemed to know what he was doing.
"Excuse me?" I tried to seem polite, yet he didn't reply. I got slightly irritated but tried again, this time walking over and tapping his shoulder. "Excuse me?" He put a bookmark in his book and turned back to look at me.
Apparently, luck isn't on my side today, because the shoulder I needed help from just so happened to be Glasses.
Surprisingly, he didn't really seem to give a shit. "...Um, could you help me find some books on Savannah..?" I grumbled, he slightly smiled at me and stood up. "Guess I should be looking too..." He mumbled to himself.
He zipped through the aisles, talking about how he knew the library like the back of his hand, and unlike with crazy dude, I actually paid attention to what he was saying. His voice was calm and he didn't speak too fast, crazy dude being the exact opposite.
Eventually we stopped a whole floor lower and he began to get out books and hand them to me. "Wow, maybe next time I'll ask for help before climbing a flight of stairs." He laughed as I spoke, handing me one last book.
"Sorry there aren't many books on Savannah," he voiced. "Not your fault." Without a response he simply waved goodbye and began to walk away. "One more thing." He turned around hearing my voice. "What's the most hidden place here to read? I don't need my friends seeing me here."
He smiled slightly again. "Only if you answer a question of mine?" I thought for a moment, praying this wasn't going to be too personal, and I eventually nodded. He laughed before continuing, "What's you and your sister's name? I wasn't paying attention during introductions."
...
I couldn't help but look up at this dude every so often. It feels weird to call him by his actual name after I spent this whole time calling him Glasses.
Logan.
Okay I still don't like it.
