I knew what was going on when my mom got a call from his grandparents.

I knew what was going on when her smile faded and a frown replaced her lips.

I knew what was going on when she told me and Taylor to go to our room for a few minutes.

Taylor looked at me, confused and concerned.

She didn't understand.

...

I knew what was going on when Logan left two texts.

One in the group chat he never talked in anymore.

One to just my number.

I set my phone down in my chest face down and inhaled.

I knew what was going on when Taylor scrambled out of bed holding her phone screaming to call Logan's grandparents.

And I listened to my mom quietly explain to her what was going on.

I didn't open his text.

My mom came in and I spaced out as she explained to me what I already knew.

When she left I didn't open the text to my number, just the one to the group chat.

I skimmed over it.

Then I dropped my phone on my chest again and reached over beside me on my bed.

I picked up a book he had given me called The Book Thief.

Every time I tried to read I'd space out.

I looked over on my desk.

At the flowers I was going to give him Monday.

Purple flowers, because I knew that was his favorite color.

...

During dinner not me or Taylor spoke alot.

Mom told Tay and me to go try on our nice clothes and make sure they still fit to be ready.

Taylor started crying and Mom held her.

I got up and left my full plate there.

I got into bed and picked up my phone, staring at the messages from all the members in the group to the group chat.
