The next morning
~~~The bell rang a minute late. Class had seemed to drag on that morning and it was only first period.
"Shinso, Im going to need you to work with Bakugo." Aizawa stated, flicking through a pile of unmarked papers and stamping a grade on just by looking at the name.
"Seriously?" They groaned in unison.
"Do I look like I'm joking?" He asked, looking up from the papers, face expressionless.
"Whatever." Katsuki stated, standing up rapidly and leaving the classroom alongside Kirishima and Jirou.
"Oh come on, Shin-bro isn't that bad!" Kaminari laughed from behind the three.
"I'm not unhappy, dunce face. I'm just-..." he paused a moment stopping his stride and turning to Jirou, "How do you explain RBF to an absolutely fucking dumbass?"
She rolled her eyes, turning towards Denki, "Right, his neutral face looks pissed but it doesn't mean that he's mad except for when he is mad which is usually." Kyoka explained, "Got that, Idiot?"
Kaminari nodded slowly. He did not get it. How was he meant to know when Bakugo actually was mad and when he was just chill? What if he thought he was doing fine, acted like he was and then got exploded 4 rooms down? What if he thought he was angry and he wasn't and then him thinking Bakugo was angry made him angry? If he made him angry would everyone blame him for his bad attitude? Bad mood?... this was so confusing!!
Shinso POV
~~~I wasn't sure how to feel about having to work with Bakugo. He had been so on and off recently and I could never decide whether we were friends or enemies or just flirting? Maybe doing this project together would give me a chance to clear things up, ask a few questions?
I walked over to Katsuki, making my way inbetween his little group of friends and pulling him out the crowds by his wrist. "THE FUCK FREAK!?" He shouted.
My hand slapped over his mouth, looking at him expectantly until he accepted and shut up. "I've got a headache, don't start shouting asshole."
I removed my hand from his mouth, awkwardly smiling at a student as they passed by. "I'm gonna need you to take a few steps away from me, eyebags, you're ruining my ego." He stated with a sneer.
I rolled my eyes, stepping back, "Follow me."
"Where thé fuck are you taking me?" Bakugo questioned, allowing me to lead him down the corridor and towards two wooden, large doors.
I looked at him confused, "Have you never been down here!?" The blonde shook his head admittently. I sighed, although I must admit I struggled to find even a hint of shock. I didn't expect him to know this place. Eventually, I explained, "Those doors lead to the old library."
"Old?"
"They built a more modern one a couple of floors up -" i took a quick pause, "- why and how do you not know this!?" Bakugo shrugged before I decided to continue, "I prefer the old one."
Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Yeah I'm assuming it's locked so I ask again, where the fuck are we!?" I gazed towards him with hooded eyes, stopping directly infront of the library doors, "You have the key!?"
"Yeah." I stated, foot flying forward and slamming into the wood with unnecessary force. It worked though as the right door rapidly swung open, hitting against the wall behind it. I made sure to push the left one open as well, as I walked into the room full of books. "We've got to do this shitty project, might as well make it easy."
As per usual, the pomeranian decided we couldn't do anything until he yelled for a solid five minutes straight. I interrupted him, with a shout, "AHH!" Well, that shut him up! "All Might - people really need to start appreciating the effort I put into not becoming a mass murderer."
"THE FUCK!?" He shouted again.
"DARLING PLEASE!" I yelled, soon trying to find my will to live by calming myself down, "If you keep this bullshit up, I swear to fucking God, you will become the weird smell in the back cupboard of the gym."
"So you're always this sarcastic?" He asked, not screaming for once.
I sighed, finally being able to tolerate his attitude as long as the throbbing pain in my forehead wasn't becoming increasingly worse. "My level of sarcasm has surpassed the point where I know if I'm kidding or not so... watch your pretty little mouth, yeah, sweetheart?" He rolled his eyes, nodding slowly. "Oh thank fuck."
I walked further into the library, he followed close behind so I could shut the door and turn on the lights. Shelves on shelves created so many layers of books we couldn't even attempt to see the top shelf.
I reached up to one of the higher shelves, tripping backwards slightly but catching myself before actually plummeting to the floor.
"Did you nearly fall?" Bakugo asked with a mix of laughter and a scoff.
"No." I stated simply, "I changed my mind about attacking the floor."
"Backwards?"
"I'm fucking talented!" I exclaimed. He looked at me disbelieving, glaring at me as though I was a total idiot. "Don't ask dumbass questions if you don't want dumbass answers."
Katsuki rolled his eyes, "You're being more sarcastic than usual which I genuinely didn't think was possible. What happened?"
"I was born, darling!" I admitted, holding my head in my hand, "Now are we going to do this crap or not?"
He shrugged, taking a book from the shelf, "I'd rather fucking not but it doesn't seem I have any other option."
"See! Youre learning! Good boy~!"
I watched as Bakugos cheeks flushed, adding a sweet little pink hint to his cheekbones. His eyes had widened ever so slightly and mouth dropped agape. I just grinned at him, going to sit down on a sofa that could really do with a dusting.
It took a while but eventually he unfroze and came to sit on it with me.
We sat in there for a long few hours, reading book after book on the history of heroism and copying it all down onto a computer power point. I tried to decorate it as we went to make it look more like a presentation than a fact file but design had never been my strongest skill.
"Do you believe in soulmates?" I asked, staring at the book page in confusion. It said that two heroes from literal centuries ago had been soulmates and were 'taken away from each other much too soon.'
Bakugo raised an eyebrow, looking even more confused than I did, "I believe everyone has a person they're meant to meet. For you that person is a fucking therapist."
I smirked, to begin with I had actually believed him, "So it's all bullshit?"
"Of course it's bloody bullshit!" He exclaimed, laughing at even the concept.
