Shinso POV still 🤭
~~~
I knocked on the Bakugos house door at exactly 6 pm. Papa Mic dropped me off on their way out to patrol and now I stood awkwardly waiting for somebody to answer the door with a bottle of wine in my hand.
Suddenly, the hinges swung open revealing a middle-aged blonde lady who I could only assume to be Katsukis mother. "Ah! Shinso! Welcome."
"Good evening, Mrs Bakugo. I brought this for you." I said with a smile as I held up the bottle.
She took it, smiling back at me, "Oh how lovely! Please hon, call me Mitsuki. There's no need for formalities and I believe Bakugo could be rather confusing." She laughed so I forced out a chuckle as well. I couldn't understand why Katsuki had made out she was some major bitch. She seemed nice as she explained, "My husband Masaru is preparing dinner and-"
"HE DOESN'T CARE HAG!" Katsukis voice came from upstairs.
Through gritted teeth she whispered, "Excuse me, honey." She turned away, closing the door ever so slightly, "SHUT UP YOU BRAT AND GET DOWN HERE!" Now I understood...
I listened to the rapid and heavy footsteps as goldie locks came running down the stairs. The door was pulled open properly again but this time I was grabbed and dragged upstairs.
"BRAT, DONT FORGET ITS YOUR TURN TO DO THE DISHES." She yelled up at us.
"YEAH, WILL DO LATER, OLD HAG!" He shouted back, running up the stairs. I made sure to follow close behind but he didn't let go of my hand anyway.
"BAKUGO KATSUKI! I BROUGHT YOU INTO THIS WORLD AND I CAN TAKE YOU RIGHT BACK OUT OF IT!" Mitsuki shouted as the bedroom door slammed closed.
I stared at the blonde boy in shock, "Did she just threaten to kill you over some dishes?"
He looked at me as though I was stupid, "I don't fucking know? Isn't that a normal threat?"
"No!" I exclaimed. What the hell was wrong with this household!?
"Whatever." Kat stated with a roll of his eyes, "My ring came today!"
I smiled at his beaming face. His whole persona had changed at the mention of the ring, "Does it look as good as it did on the pictures?"
He picked up a small ring box from his dresser and sat down on the bed, tapping the spot next to him so I would sit down too. He opened up the box, revealing the most stunning band I'd ever seen. I couldn't help but feel warm and fuzzy but how much he liked it.
"I wanted to say thank you again..." He mumbled, pulling the sparkling ring out of its box and slipping it onto his finger. "You didn't have to buy it."
I wrapped an arm around his shoulders and pulled him closer in, "Oh my love, you're going to have to get used to gifts." I placed a soft and gentle kiss to his forehead.
He looked up at me with eyes full of love and adoration. It sent butterflies to my stomach.
He let out a chuckle, "Fuck, I hate you." Before kissing me back but this time on my lips.
I pulled my head backwards slightly to smirk at him, "No you don't."
Bakugo came in for another quick peck, "...No, I don't."
We talked for about an hour before being called back downstairs for dinner. The house was pretty but in a cozy way. It really felt like a home.
"Hello, Shinso." Mr Bakugo greeted, reaching out his hand for me to shake.
Shit, this felt way too formal for me not to stress about impressing them.
"Hello!" I greeted back, shaking his hand politely.
I heard a snicker coming from the dining table and went to sit down beside Katsuki. He was smirking at me and I batted his leg under the table, trying to hold in my own laughter.
"The food is lovely, thank you." I said a few mouthfuls in. They weren't saying much other than a few questions being thrown at Katsuki. If I was honest, I was rather grateful for that.
"I'm so glad you're enjoying it, Shinso honey!" Mitsuki smiled at me before her eyes wandered over to Katsuki, "Your manners are a lot better than somebody else at the table."
"THE FUCKS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN YOU OLD HAG!?" Katsuki countered, shouting with a small amount of food still in his mouth.
"EXACTLY THAT YOU LITTLE SHIT!"
As the two blondes continued to argue, my attention drifted towards the brunette man. He was trying his best to de-escalate the situation but was being completely ignored. Katsuki definitely got his attitude from his mother... and his looks.
"Kat." I stated, placing a hand gently upon his shoulder. He looked at me curiously but at least he had stopped shouting, "Calm down, it's okay."
He rolled his eyes as he picked his fork back up and began nibbling away at the food on his plate.
I smiled gently at him and continued to eat my own again but I struggled to ignore the sets of eyes on me. When I finally gave in and glanced at his parents, they both seemed rather shocked. "I'm sorry, is something wrong?" I checked. Was I not meant to intervene?
Mitsukis eyes widened then relaxed again, "Certainly not, honey... you can call me Mum."
I almost choked on my food but quickly calmed down and forced a smile at her. I guess I made a good impression then?
Katsuki rolled his eyes at my side.
His mother obviously realised too because she instantly shouted, "DON'T YOU RAISE YOUR EYES AT ME, YOU MISTAKE!"
Ah... this never stopped, did it?
They laid peacefully in each others arms. Katsuki (with the help of Shinso) had cleared all the dishes away and arguments had finished for a while.
Shinso, however, couldn't help but wonder, "What are your plans for the future?"
"Become a hero? What fucking else would they be?" Bakugo countered with a scoff, his head resting delicately upon the others chest.
"I know that but what else?" He continued upon seeing the confusion written over Katsuki expression, "You plan on marriage? Family?"
The blonde shrugged, "Old hag wants me to get married and I've always had this picture of it but I doubt I'll even survive long enough to get there."
Shinso rolled his eyes, "Okay. Hypothetically then. Would you or would you not?"
Bakugo thought for a minute, "No."
Hitoshi felt a gentle weight on his heart at how casual and straight forward his tone had been. Did that mean it was completely out the question? Or just for now?
After a moment of thoughtful silence, he eventually asked, "Why not?"
"I wouldn't want to put them in danger. Being a hero with a partner and a family would surely put them at risk right? Being used as bait or a pawn." Katsuki suggested. He had a point and nobody could deny that but it still left the other feeling mildly upset and disheartened.
"I don't know. My dads are doing okay."
"They're not number one. All Might doesn't have a family and Endeavours kids were attacked by villains... I don't think I'd ever feel safe enough to risk that."
Shinso nodded slowly. He understood where the other was coming from and if he was completely honest, he agreed to some extent.
It didn't bother him too much. After all, he doubted they'd even stay together long enough to consider getting a place of their own - nevermind being bound for life.
For now, they were happy. And that's all that mattered.
Okay but like............
What's the next chapter called? 👀
Since I know at least someone is thinking it - yes, they went on a date the next day (Saturday) as planned.
