What a cat-astrophe

Nico really did like the rain- most of the time at least. But running around in the rain for hours, with the pitter patter of droplets hitting the roof slowly driving you insane, it got a little tiring. Especially paired with the general gloominess of Gotham and how dark the city seemed to get at nighttime (though that was probably caused by the large amount of broken lamppost), it really did wonders for bringing Nico's mood down to zero.

The only lucky thing he could count about the evening yet was the lack of monsters and people, and how albeit it being shitty weather in the shittiest outskirts of the city, there was still a strange sort of beauty to it. Though Nico's perception of beauty might've been warped a little from staying at Hades castle on occasion.

He was investigating a location of interest in an abandoned warehouse district, the reason for abandonment being something about a chemical leak, Nico didn't care to research it much.
Though he had learned from his previous encounters that he probably should've covered his face before going out for criminal activities, so now Nico was sporting a brand new mask to cover the lower half of his face, and a Domino mask for his eyes. Along with the black rain jacket he was wearing, the only identifying factor about him was the black hair sticking out from underneath the hood.

Nico mostly stuck to the rooftops to avoid people, even if the place was abandoned and a restricted area, there was always the chance of gang members or homeless people mingling around in the district.

Majority of his missions across Gotham had been and would be related in some way to the Lazarus Pits, mainly having to destroy records or traces of it, howewer small they were, most of the records not even referencing to the Pits as more than a legend, but it was still necessary to get rid of for some reason (waste of time and energy in Nico's opinion), this particular escapade did not have much to do with any of that though. The only reason Nico hadn't turned back yet was because he was there for his own reasons and not for a mission. Said reasons being the odd presence that'd consistently been nagging him since he arrived to Gotham, and Nico knew it wasn't just the ever present air of danger in Gotham, he recognized when something was mythological.

The steady thrum of power emanating from the area made the hairs on his neck rise and gave shivers down his spine, but he still continued forward, jumping down to the nearest fire escape and further until he'd reached the ground in front of a larger warehouse.
Nico didn't see what was so interesting about this particular building other than the large amount of dirt and scraps (and probably chemicals) scattered everywhere, but his senses were screaming bloody murder at him the closer he got so it was probably important in some way, Nico reasoned with himself internally.

If there was one thing Nico had learned from being a demigod, if anything felt off, sprint as fast as you can the other way.
So of course Nico was gonna do the exact opposite.
And Nico liked to think he was, at the very least, strong enough to hold his own against whatever possible monster could be lurking.

Slowly pushing the door open, Nico winced as a loud creaking sound echoed through the air, though he'd most certainly made himself known to whatever could be hiding in the warehouse, Nico still took care in silencing his footfalls.
He hadn't watched a lot of horror movies (disliking how inaccurate most of them were) but even he could tell this was probably the part leading up to a jumpscare. He shivered.

Nico had plenty experience fighting and navigating in the dark, but he still chose to pull out the flashlight from his pocket, even if it was done because of the small amount (emphasis on small, very very small amount!) of fear that lingered.

Being careful to avoid the chemical puddles and fallen, rather jagged roof pieces littered around, Nico carefully made his way further into the warehouse, letting his flashlight shine on the walls as he scanned them. It was overall pretty empty, aside from the barred tunnels built into the left wall and the broken railings sticking up from the ground (from what Nico guessed had once been a catwalk).
