The figure awoke to the sound of a soft lullaby echoing though the farther walls, their limbs and shoulder ached as they slowly got up from the rather uncomfortable sleeping spot on the ground.

Soft light shone through the entrance of the chamber the unidentifiable person resided in. Paint resembling a variety of different markings nearly covered the walls completely, though the stranger took no notice with the heavy green haze obscuring their thoughts.

The person groaned, clutching their stomach whilst they limped across the chamber, that in further inspection resembled more of a cave than anything intentionally built.

Outside the cave entrance was desolation and dingy forest stretching on for miles. The person did not care and simply followed the soothing humming further along the forest's entrance.
Even if they had to pause often to catch their breath or due to sharp spikes of pain, they eventually reached the source of the calming noise. A noise that seemed to be almost forcefully pushing down the acidic fog that surrounded their vision.

A tall regal looking woman was standing with her feet ankle deep in the running river, that they only now noticed was there (having been too focused on the melody). The woman wore a pale white chiton with a cloak hanging off her shoulders, her hair was long and almost pitch black, seemingly reflecting colors from the environment that weren't there, like purples, reds and pinks. Markings similar to those from the cave were also adorning her dress, painted in different shades of gold.

"Oh, you're awake" she spoke, her voice barely matched the earlier tune she was singing, instead sounding sharp and almost cruel.

"We can commence the plan properly now, but I must know, should I expect your cooperation?"

"Yes"

End note: Another one of this kind of chapter y'all, sorry that it's short but it's intentional to not give away too much information this early in the story, also I'm referring to this yet-to-be-identified person as they/them simply to avoid revealing anything about who this person is:)
