I got up. Vrushali was deep in sleep. I kissed her forehead and covered her with the duvet.

I went outside. "K-karn?" I heard and turned back to see Mata Kunti.

She came towards me.

I looked at her and the bangles in her hands.

These were beautiful!

These were beautiful!

"I have these since my swayamvar days. Would you like to make your wives wear it?" She asked desperately.

The Tridevs and Tridevis gave me a power to know the inner thoughts to make my reincarnation successful in order to establish righteousness.

I looked at her and widened my eyes.

She was saving these bangles for her daughter in laws. And my wives are her eldest daughter in laws.

These bangles are the best set ever found in Aryavrat.

"Thank you maa. I will make them wear it", I said and she grinned. I took the bangles from her.

"Don't you think-" I said. "We have a very deep connection", I said.

She froze hearing it and I saw tears gathering in the corner of her eyes as she slowly nodded.

Have some courage! Maa.

I sighed and thought.

I went after touching her feet. I had to meet the princesses. I went first in my chamber and kept the bangles for Vrushali in the drawer.

I kept the other bangles set in the drawer as well and took one for Shilpa.

I went outside and knocked in her chamber before opening it and entering inside.

She was sitting lifelessly by the bedrest and she had her eyes opened. But she was in such a daze that she couldn't really connect with the reality.

I felt terrible seeing her.

I approached her and gently held her hand as she gasped in surprise and looked at me.

Her face got drain of all colours and she fearfully looked at me.

I could already feel her heartbeats were equivalent to the speed of Rajdhani express.

"Ssh. Don't get scared of me", I cooed at her.

I rubbed her hand with my both hands to calm her down. She took deep breaths and calmed down.

"Good", I whispered. I held her both hands gently and signalled her to get up.

I made her sit on the bed. I kneeled down in front of her and held her wrist.

I took out the bangles from behind my back and made her wear one. I took her other wrist and made her wear the other bangle.

She looked at the bangles mesmerised at their beauty.

I chuckled softly.

"You like it?" I asked and she nodded. I kissed the bangles on her hands as she got flustered.

I smiled at her. "You didn't had food. I will bring something", I said.

"Arya", she said holding my hand when I got up and nodded at me no slowly.

"Please don't get scared of me. I will not do anything. I promise", I said softly and she looked down.

"Dear you are my wife. You are my life partner", I said. "And life partners are supposed to be with each other, not scared of each other", I said.

"Y-you killed P-pitashree", she sobbed and whimpered probably at the fact of angering me.

"And I am sorry for that", I said. "But it was needed. He was torturing people of Anga, he eyed Vrushali and he tried to give you five just to save his life", I told her.

She looked down crying. "But he was my father", she cried.

I held her chin and made her look up. "I know he was. I will be always sorry for what happened. But you don't need to fear me. I am not like others. I won't treat you as my trophy but as my wife. If you want, I won't enter in your room till you wish me not to. I promise", I told her in a firm voice.

"No Arya. You have full rights on me. You can come to me anytime you want. I am no one to stop you", she said. I noticed the fear in her eyes.

"If you think I will remarry and never look at you just because you stopped me, then you are highly wrong", I said to her and she looked up at me shocked as to how could I figure out exactly what she was thinking.

"I have said to you before and I will say it now. And, I do mean all my words. I will never ever stake your comfort for anything in this world. For me, my partner matters more than anything else. For me, my wife is my life partner, not a child bearing machine. For me, you are someone who is equal to me, not above, not below. We both are equals", I said.

"Regarding this remarriage, I don't want to sing any appreciations for myself but I came after apologising to Vrushali. If it wasn't for the circumstances, I would have never let my wife be heartbroken. I can't guarantee what future holds", I said remembering Supriya, the other girl said to be Karn's wife in my era.

"But if remarriage has to happen, it will always happen with the consent of each of my wives. If even one raises an objection, I would never go against it", I promised.

"C-can you do something?" She asked me. I was glad she did.

"Sure sweetheart", I kissed on her hair. She shivered a bit and I was surprised it was not out of fear but the genuine effect I already seemed to have on her.

I am as always charming!

"Can you leave this friendship and kuruvansh?" She asked.

Not again...

"Shilpa", I said and she gulped. "Why are you asking me something like this? This is the only genuine friendship I have my dear".

"I don't have any issues", she said quietly. "But this kingdom seems so scary considering the brothers rivalry. Believe me Arya, one day it will end up very badly. Very...very badly", I flinched as I remembered the war.

"Arya. If we stay here, we would be unknowingly involved in it well. I can see Pandavas already hate for being Rajkumar Duryodhan's friend. Please leave this Arya", she cried in fear and hugged me, her head resting on my waist. I hugged her as she kept crying.

"I promise you. The day Duryodhan does something unthinkable, I will never see his face again", I said and Shilpa smiled.

Because I won't let him do that in the first place.
