Rewriting the incident from Suryaputra Karn where Duryodhan lit fire in his room after Karn broke his friendship following Varnavrat.
It had been just the evening of the same day and I was already sulking without that idiot's presence.
"I am sorry Arya", Dushala said guiltily.
"You had no fault", I sighed.
"He would do all things he feels right now. You are not there to stop him", she huffed.
I chuckled. "Do you really think just by those words, I left him?" I asked.
She looked at me confused.
"I can never leave him Dushala and he knows it well. He won't try anything in fear of me", I assured her.
"I can leave my family for him but I won't leave him for anything in this world. I won't let even god seperate us", I said firmly meaning my each word remembering the option to leave my blood brothers and not letting even Vasudev separate us.
Dushala smiled. "Thank you for loving him so much", she said. I smiled back at her.
"Anyways. We should rest for a while", I said. We moved towards my chamber from one of the balconies that weren't attached to any room. My other wives were sitting there.
Before we could go for rest after spending time a bit, a soldier just barged in my chamber.
I was shocked.
"What happened?" I asked seeing him go pale.
"Rajkumar Duryodhan's room is lit in fire and he's not coming out", the soldier said.
I closed my eyes in frustration. This boy! He always tests my patience.
How dare he put himself in danger!
"Close your eyes", I said to my wives and pulled all of them closer. I forgot to tell but when I killed Jarasandh, mata Parvati impressed by me blessed me with power of teleportation.
We reached the palace. My wives were shocked but I had no time to explain.
From my magical vision, I saw the jaw of the soldier in my chamber hanging down touching the floor.
Fuck my dramatic self!
I had important matters ahead.
I rushed towards Duryodhan's room and everyone were again shocked seeing me there so fast. I kicked open the door and saw him sitting dumbly amidst the fire.
What was even going in his head?
"Come out", I growled forwarding my hand and he looked at me.
He cried...
He shook his head and glared at me which looked cute. I chuckled. Damn him! "Come out Duryodhan. Fire is spreading", I said to him and he again shook his head.
What was wrong with this boy?!
"Either you come out or I will drag you out. Don't force me. That will be worst", I clenched my jaw. He looked visibly scared but STILL shook his head.
This guy!!
"Duryodhan! You fool", I cursed seeing the fire about to reach him.
I held his hand tightly and pulled him in one go before the fire covered even the bed and we ran out. To be better, I dragged him out.
I smacked his head hard. Fucking Idiot!
He rubbed the spot and sniffled a little. I hugged him tightly. "I will kill you next time you try to pull a stunt like this", I muttered.
"Forgive me please", he said.
"I was never angry on you to begin with idiot", I chuckled.
"Come with me. I need to talk with you", I said to him. I pulled him over in my chamber.
"Duryodhana, Jaydrath is not a good man and that's why I was against this marriage since start. You don't realise it but I do. Your preference to the alliance more than your sister angered me. Duryodhan! You need to learn to set your priorities in the right way. How would Dushala feel if you give importance to something else over her? That's why she spoke in rebellion", I tried to explain him.
"Duryodhan! You need to understand that where you are getting wrong. Your Mamashree is not doing good influencing you in these things and despite being old enough and getting proper education, you are getting in his words but not anymore", I huffed.
"Mitra don't say anything about Mamashree", Duryodhan protested.
"I love him as well", I assured. "Don't forget more than you it's me who spends time with him playing chausar and learning his tricks but I know where I need to set clear boundaries", I told him. "And sadly you aren't aware of it Duryodhan. You are still a child!" I said to him softly.
He frowned thinking of it as an insult making me roll my eyes.
"After my family, you are the most precious person I have, you do understand it right? That's why everyone related to you are my family", I told him. "That's why I couldn't stay silent when Dushala was being treated unfairly. She has the right on her own life and you were snatching it from her", I told him.
He looked down guiltily. "She has always loved you more than anything. And you can't trade her with any kingdom alliance. That's not what a brother does. I wanted you to realise your duties as a good person and prince but I never said you to forget your duties as a brother", I said simply.
"So what should I do?" He asked.
I will bang my head!
"What do you mean by what you should do? Spread awareness about her wedding and stop Jaydrath from coming here", I said to him. "And most importantly ask forgiveness from Dushala", I said to him further.
"But this will ruin the reputation of the kingdom", he widened his eyes.
I groaned. "God! Don't tell me my lecture of priorities was waste", I said dramatically and narrowed my eyes at him.
He sheepishly chuckled. "Sorry. I will do that", he said.
"And you want Sindh right? I will give it to you. I will keep it at your feet", I said.
"But before that you need to promise me one thing", I said.
"What?" He asked confused.
"You need to send back Mamashree to Gandhar".
