Audrey's POV:

Slowly, I woke up, reaching my hand for somebody. The sheets were still warm, but she was gone. Blinking away sleep, I propped up on my elbows and scanned the room.

She was gone. Of course she left. Why should I expect anything else from her?

I was about to get up when I saw my bathroom door open. Reynold walked out with her hair wet and a towel around her waist.

"Hello, love. I hope you slept well."

I felt my heart skip a beat. "Uh- yeah I did." My eyes were wide as I looked over her toned body. Droplets of water were clinging to her abdomen and dripping from her wet hair.

"Like what you see?" A teasing smile spread across her face. I felt my cheeks flush and quickly looked away. I heard her chuckle at my actions. "Hope you don't mind that I used your shower."

"No it's okay." I was still looking down as I waited for my cheeks to go back to their normal tone.

"Okay good. I just came in here to grab my clothes." She picked up her clothes from the floor. "I'm going to change then I'll be out of your hair."

Once she was gone, I let out a sigh thinking of all the past events, from what just happened to last night. I lost my bestfriend, Aurora. I've known her my entire and have always been close to her. I told her everything and she was there when everything happened. She always knew how to make me laugh, even on my worst days. We had so many plans together- graduation, college, traveling and so much more. And now she's gone. I'll miss her everyday.

"Hey are you okay?" Reynold sat on the bed. "You're crying." She gently placed her hand on my cheek and wiped my tears away.

I hadn't even noticed the tears roll down my face. I shook my head. "I don't think I'll ever be okay." She gave me a sympathetic look and pulled me into her chest.

"You will be okay. I'll make sure of it." She pulled back and moved a strand of hair behind my ear. "I've been meaning to give you this for some time." She got up and reached for her back pocket and pulled out a necklace.

It was a delicate piece of jewelry. The chain was slender and silver, with a slight shimmer that caught the light coming from the windows subtly. At its center hung a small, intricate pendant designed to look like a delicate flower.

I gaped at it. "Reynold- it's beautiful." I looked up at her. "Thank you."

"I know it's not the best time for gifts but I want you to know I'm here for you and this is a symbol of that." She helped me up and stood behind me, placing the necklace around my neck.

"It's gorgeous and it so smells good. Is that rosemary?" I turned around to her and put my hand on the pendant.

She shook her head. "No it's actually a locally grown herb: Thirnhorn."

"Well thank you for this. It truly means a lot."

"It was the least I could do." She put her hand in mine.

We looked at each for a bit as she rubbed her thumb against my hand. I admired her face now that it didn't have that smirk it always did. Reynold had striking, deep set eyes, the kind that seemed to see right through you. Her jawline was strong, and her cheekbones are so well defined. It looks like her face was perfectly sculpted. And her lips... they're perfectly shaped, not too thin, not too full, just right.

"This might be a little personal." I began.

"Go for it. I want to help you." She gave me a sincere smile.
