Audrey's POV:

She chuckled. "Love, what are you talking about?"

"Don't! Don't play games with me."

Her expression changed when she noticed I wasn't joking around. "Okay then... What am I?"

"You're- you're a..." For some reason, I couldn't get the word out.

"I'm what? Say it, Audrey."

"You're a vampire."

"Maybe humans are smarter than I thought."

"Is this a joke to you?" I realized what I just said earlier. "Oh my god... I sound crazy. I- I got to go."

I can't believe I just said she was a vampire. She probably thinks I'm going insane.

I turned around and began walking away.

"Audrey, love, wait." I heard her voice behind me and she stepped in front of me.

"This was stupid." I stopped walking. "If you want to make fun of me, I deserve it. Go ahead."

"What? Why would I do that?"

"Because I just accused you of being a vampire."

"I'm not going to make fun of you."

"Why? You love to do that."

"Because..."

"Because?"

A smirk crept on her face. "Let's make a truce. I won't make fun of you and won't tell anyone. In exchange, you forgive me." She stuck out her hand.

I laughed. "Deal." I reached for her hand and shook it.

"Fantastic." We started walking to my car. "To make it up to you, how about we go to Little Spoon?"

I pretended to think for a moment.

"I'll pay..."

I giggled. "Fine."

"M'lady." She opened the driver door for me.

Once she was in, I started the car and we made our way to the diner.

"How many?" The hostess asked.

"Two." I said.

The diner wasn't crowded. There were a few people sitting on the barstools. A small family was laughing at their baby's babbles and an old couple was sharing a milkshake.

"Follow me." The hostess picked up the menus and led us to a corner booth. "Your waiter will be right with you guys." She smiled and walked away.

"Oh I saw Jago at the library today." I stated.

"That makes sense. He's always there. Why were you at the library? You don't strike me as a reader."

"You don't think I'm smart!" I gasped. Sarcasm laced in my voice.

"No." She chuckled. "Just surprised is all."

"Well you're right. That was the first time being in that old thing."

The memories of seeing her face in those pictures came rushing to my head. I couldn't explain it and I knew she wouldn't tell me the truth. I decided to just ignore it.

"What'd Jago want? Was he being bothersome?"

"I don't think so. But he does give me the creeps."

"He does that a lot. He gets a kick out of it. Please forgive him."
