Audrey's POV:

"I can't believe Aurora's funeral is this weekend." Isabelle sighed against her locker.

"I know right. It's hard to believe she's been gone for two weeks now." Charlotte responded. "I miss her everyday." Isabelle hummed in agreement.

They looked at me hoping I would join in on the conversation, but I just stared into space. Now that I know vampires exist, I know how she was really killed. Every time I think about her death, her pale, bloodless body comes into my mind. I want nothing more than to stake the monster that did this and make him feel my pain.

They looked back at each other and sighed before walking away when the bell rang. I stared in space for a few more seconds before snapping out of it and sprinting off to class.

I pulled on the door to Mr. Davis's class but it was already locked so I was forced to knock.

"Oh Ms. Beaumont, I'm surprised to see you late. Usually, it's your partner in crime." Mr. Davis said as I walked into class. I gave a small nod and headed to my seat next to Reynold.

Everyone in the school knows about how much Reynold and I have been hanging out and now think we're dating. This has earned me some nasty looks and words under people's breath.

Why do people go out of their way to make my life more of a hell? I hate high school.

As I walked up to our desks, Reynold must've sensed I was off and grabbed my hand under the table once I sat down.

For some reason, it instantly calmed the storm inside of me and I let out a breath.

"Alright let's begin!"

Once class ended, me and Reynold got up hand in hand and walked to the door.

"Ms. Barbatus." Mr. Davis called out. "I need to speak to you."

"Shit." She muttered. "I was so close."

I giggled at her. "Have fun. I'll see you at lunch."

Reynold sighed. "Bye, love." She gave me a kiss on the cheek and dragged her feet back into class.

"Would you mind telling me why you have missed over 20 of my class periods?" I heard Mr. Davis say as I walked into the hallway. I couldn't help but laugh.

As I was walking, I received several nasty looks from girls and Charlie couldn't stop glaring at me.

"I don't know why she would choose her." I heard one girl whispered to her friends. I nearly stopped in my tracks but decided since my day was already bad I don't want to let this get to me.

I continued walking for a couple more steps before a hooded figure bumped his shoulder into me nearly sending me back. I know if Reynold was here she would've ripped his head off.

As the creep speedily walked away, I noticed a folded note had fallen from his pocket in front of me. I bent down to pick it up. "Hey you..." I was about to tell him he dropped his letter but I saw in beautiful cursive handwriting was my name.

I opened the paper and inside it read: Go to the library. You won't regret it ;)

This is a little strange but I've had to deal with worse these past few weeks. Reynold probably managed to escape Mr. Davis and wanted to see me again. A little out of her style but who knows.

I made a left into another hallway and headed to the library. Upon opening the door, I saw that no one was here including Mrs. Clark. I looked around for a few minutes before going back to the exit.
