Riki's POV
Blood and pig guts weren't for rich bitches.
Someone had to get their hands dirty. That was my part. That's what they paid me for.
Study hard in school so you don't end up killing people for a living at sixteen. Or don't be an orphan at ten.
Didn't mean killing wasn't fun.
I owed Jaeyun. He paid anyway. I took the money so I could pay him back someday. Part of me wanted to see him come undone for me. I knew he could get filthy.
Wouldn't happen if I wasn't taking care of Jungkook.
He went to the gym every night after work. I dropped the idea of finding out how much weight a human skull could take before it gave out.
Jaeyun would've lost it.
Breaking into the cop's apartment took minutes. Waiting for him to come back was the hardest part.
I went straight to his bedroom. Opened every drawer. Looked for the evidence Jaeyun had mentioned.
Gotcha.
Inside the closet, behind jackets and shirts, there were photos taped to the wall. I ripped them off one by one. Smirking.
Jaeyun and Yuna at a restaurant. Jaeyun's car in front of the governor's house in the Hamptons. Jaeyun smoking with Governor Kim on a rooftop. Yuna buying red lingerie with her pet puppy, aka Jaeyun. Jaeyun at a club in a fur coat, coke lined up, Yuna and Giselle kissing his cheeks.
He'd lived life to the fullest. Whenever that shit-digger Jeon was around.
I pulled my lighter and burned the photos to ashes.
Around ten, Jungkook came back on the phone.
I was sitting on his bed when he walked in. He froze mid-sentence.
Not some pretty blonde Barbie doll he could fuck.
"I'll call you back, Won." He hung up.
"Call him back. And say goodbye."
His eyes went to the gun in my hand. Then to me. He swallowed. Regretting leaving it under his mattress.
"What do you want?"
I got up from his bed. He stepped back.
"Nothing. I'm here for Jaeyun."
He threw his bag straight at my face and bolted.
Motherfucker. Like he was getting away.
My finger pulled the trigger as I tried to yank his sweat-soaked t-shirt away from my face.
