                                                         Chapter 17. a promise made...

I WOKE UP TO THE MOONLIGHT SHINING OVER THE TREES, WHICH SWUNG WITH THE breeze. I sat up and stared longingly out of the window. Something had woke me up.Was it Mother? I thought to my self. Carson.... I thought looking around.No... he was no where to be found. I was listening for a sound when I froze. A figure-tall and immenent stood on my balcony his nail grinding into my window. Not enough to shatter it but enough to make a sound of pure terror and want me to burn my ear drums. I jumped up ready to fight, and screamed.

I could see his emerald eyes perfectly-even though they were surrounded by a sea of orange. His fiery red hair, was ruffled as if he had run all the way here. His grin was wide but I could tell...something was wrong. The grin didn't quite reach his eyes. Slowly I walked to my balcony door and unlocked it. He opened it and walked in. He sat down. The first thing he said was most definetly not what I thought he was going to say.

"We have to get out of here. We have to start now." He said quietly. Wait....so...what?! These dreams were true? I thought, which then voiced. He just looked at me and nodded. He then went on to explain all about the current situation with him and Keira and how they "must " get married, but meither of them want to marry each other-there like family to each other.

"Wait." I said putting my hands in the air as if to stop someone. "so it's happening to you to?" I said quietly.He looked at me with a weird expression.

"Your mother is making you marry too?" He said with quaking fury. Before he could get mad I put my hands on his shoulders. "Now, stop this madness." I told him quickly. "You know I won't marry him. I will help you. But we need to get " I paused thinking on what word I would like to say. "An army-of were-wolfs, and vampires. Maybe we could find some that have been exiled for loving the other species." I said my hopes visibly rising even in my soul I could feel the hope bursting from within."

He looked at me with a determined look, I looked at him with all the sureness I could muster. I was positive we could do this.

"So..You are sure?" He asked quickly.

"Yes." I said almost immediatly. His returning smile was huge and breath taking. I jumped up. I dont know what had come over me but before I knew what had happened I had my arms around him and kissed him. His response was to kiss me back and with alot of enthusiasm. I pulled away.

"I'll do it." I told him. "Jericho-but you have o leave."

"Wha-why?" He asked confusion clouding his expression.

"I am pretty sure we have books somewhere in the library, and I don't think a vampire would be welcomed walking through the library...even a good looking one like you." I said grinning.

"Okay I will leave.BUT I will be back. Aleene I promise to be back."
