The year was 1980. Marcus Volturi was alone in Goldhollow. He was taking a short vacation from the Volturi. No he wasn't leaving them, but was taking a quick vacation. All the kings and the elite guard did so from time to time.
He was walking around the town with a permanent frown on his face. Although the town was nice, he couldn't help but think that his dearly departed mate, Didyme, would have loved it. It was surrounded by nature and so lively.
He wasn't paying much attention ahead of him until someone bumped into him and fell to the ground.
"Oof. I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." A voice from below him says.
Marcus looks down and sees a young woman. He offers her his hand to help her up. "No harm done." He says as he helps her up.
"You're new around here. I know everyone in town and you are definitely a new face."
"Just visiting."
"Well, I'm Robyn. Robyn Wilder." She says, offering him her hand.
"Marcus Volturi." He responds, shaking her hand.
Robyn smiled at him. She knew he was a cold one, but didn't care. She could protect herself if needed and could tell this cold one could use some good old fashion cheering up.
"Well, Mr. Volturi, how long are you here for?"
"A few days."
"Well those few days are on me."
"Excuse me?"
"Meaning I am going to show you around this town so you can see what it has to offer. I can tell you need a little cheering up, so while you're here I am on the job." Robyn says with a smile
Marcus was going to deny, but her lighthearted and friendly attitude reminded him of his beloved mate. He knew it wasn't her, but he decided he wanted to be around her infectious and childlike demeanor a little longer.
"Sure why not?" Marcus says with a tiny, barely there smile.
"Great! You'll end up falling in love with this town before you leave." Robyn says with a smile as the two walk down the street side by side.
