Chapter 12

Logan was on the phone with Demetri.

"Some kid named Riley Biers is giving the orders. Apparently, they are going to battle in 3 days." Demetri tells Logan.

"Riley Biers. That name sounds familiar..." Logan says

"According to the missing person signs, he's been missing for a little over a year."

"I think Bella's dad has been working his case, but he hasn't had any luck. Guess now we know why. But there is no way some random kid from Forks started this."

"He didn't. That redhead vampire you were telling us about did."

"Hmm. So I assume you guys already took care of the army."

"No. We're going to let them attempt to do what they were made to do before destroying them."

"But they were made to kill Bella." Logan says worriedly.

"Don't worry, cara mia. I'll make sure the human is safe, but if they take out some of the Cullens in the meantime, it's no bother to us."

"Okay. Just please be careful and make sure Bella is too if you can. She's gonna be hurting enough when she finds out the truth about Edward or when she gets here and Edward is punished for his crimes. Either way, she will be in pain because of that."

"She'll be okay. I promise."

"You be okay, too. I would much rather not have my mate injured."

"You and me both, more mia. Are you excited for the play tonight?" Demetri asks.

Marcus had gotten himself and Logan tickets to opening night of the play, which happened to be tonight. Demetri had been gone for 3 weeks, and Logan was missing him like crazy. The phone calls helped, but they definitely were not enough.

"Yeah. We should be leaving soon." Logan says. Someone knocks on her door. She opens the door and sees Marcus. "Speaking of my date is at our door now to pick me up." Logan says with a smile.

"Then I will let you go. Have fun, amore mia. I love you."

"I love you, too, Dem." Logan says before handing up. Logan looks at Marcus. "Hi." She says with a smile.

"Hello, angelo mia. You look beautiful." Marcus says.

Logan was wearing a deep red dress that hugged her curves perfectly.

"Thank you."

"Are you ready to go?"

"I'm ready when you are."

"Then shall we?" Marcus asks as he offers Logan his arm.

"We shall." Logan says, linking their arms with a smile.

As promised, Demetri kept an eye on Bella from a distance, so Edward nor the wolf sensed him. He was about to step in when Edward took care of the redhead. Seeing that Bella wasn't in harm's way, Demetri sped back over to Jane, Alec, and Felix.

"Back from checking on the human?" Jane asks

"Obviously." Demetri says as he rolls his eyes.

"I don't understand why you insisted on going. She is just a stupid human."

"I agree she is a stupid human, but she's a human that my mate cares about a great deal. I made sure she didn't get hurt for Logan."

"You didn't get caught, did you?"

"Of course not. I know how to avoid being sensed by a vampire and a mutt." Demetri says as he rolls his eyes.

"A werewolf?" Felix asks
