The day started only four hours after Daphne had fallen asleep. Her whole body screamed at her to fall back to her slumberous state, and it took Liam coming into her room and yanking her off the bed to wake her up.

"Ow..." she grumbled from her space on the floor. "You're supposed to save the violence for the games," Daphne added with a humorous smirk as Liam rolled his eyes and grasped a hold of her bicep to pull her to her feet. "You're always so sassy, rolling your eyes at me," Daphne teased as she collected her training uniform from the dresser. When she turned back to Liam, he signed, "Shut up and get ready."

Daphne couldn't help but laugh at his demand before going into the bathroom and closing the door behind her. She still had an hour to eat and get ready, so she wasn't too worried about rushing unlike her brother who was always determined to be the first one anywhere.

Outside the bathroom door, she could hear Liam turned on the tv propped onto the wall. Daphne's curiosity rose and she quickly got into her training uniform. The outfit was tight, but it was also oddly comfortable. Either way, Daphne was satisfied to be covered and have shoes unlike at the parade the day before.

The brunette didn't even care to finish doing her hair before leaving the bathroom, too curious of what her brother was watching. She brought her brush and hair ties out to the room with her and sat down on the bed beside Liam. Once her eyes locked onto the television, she knew what it was. Liam was watching Finnick's Hunger Games.

"We could use all the help we can get," Liam told her before refocusing his attention to the screen once again. Daphne watched as well, but her blue eyes could barely focus on the graphic scenes she had watched only two years prior.

Instead, she quickly finished tying her hair back into a simple ponytail and walked back to the bathroom to finish the rest of her morning routine. When she was done in the bathroom, Liam shut off the tv and the pair made their way down the elevator and to the place they would eat breakfast with Finnick and Evangeline.

The breakfast was fine. Well, the food was more than fine, but Daphne's mind was far too cloudy with constant thoughts to listen to Finnick recite the advice she had been given last night. Daphne still wondered how Finnick knew sign language, for him and Liam were having a full blown conversation back and forth, Liam answering with signs and Finnick answering verbally while a confused Evangeline tried to connect the dots.

When the room fell to a peaceful silence, Daphne spoke up. "How do you know sign language?" she asked with pure curiosity. Liam's brown eyes raised from the eggs he had been devouring; he was curious as well.

"Mags, the victor from the 11 Hunger Games," Finnick answered once he had swallowed his food and washed it down with some juice. "She was my mentor for the games, but I knew her before that. She practically raised me," he added not long after. "I somewhat grew up learning it. After her games, she refused to speak, so when she took me under her wing, I learned how to communicate with her."
