A/N-If y'all haven't noticed but I really do enjoy basing chapters off of songs because I can picture the scene out perfectly in my head so this on is based off of Time to Dance by the lovely Panic! At the Disco. Enjoy my friends.

Chapter Ten-Time to Dance
Was there a war going on? Had Voldemort truly return? Surely, that's what one would assume if they had walked into the dormitory I share with Pansy and Milicent. It seems like they had lost everything before the dance. Including their marbles.
"What do you think you're looking at?" Pansy sneered as she noticed me watching her scramble with amused look on my face.
"Nothing too interesting," I mumble whilst fiddling with my fingers. I was sitting on the bed that was once mine, waiting for the silver pumps I asked Milicent for. I did not want to ask Milicent for anything in all honesty, but I felt as if tonight would be more special than most.
"Here you are! These should be the perfect squeeze," Milicent maniacally laughed. I gave her a strange look, but pulled them on nonetheless. They had ribbons attached to the ends and I wove them around my legs before tying them with a small bow. She was right about the tight squeeze. The shoes put pressure on my feet and the ribbons pressed into my skin. It was almost painful, but I thought nothing of it. I didn't have time to change them now.
"Thank you, Milicent," I say politely, "Alright, then. I hope you two have a lovely night. Maybe I'll see you at the dance."
"Wait, Elora, take these silver bangles. They compliment your eyes," Pansy coos with a strange tone, but I took them anyways. I could hardly fit them over my hand, yet I had to admit they did look nice. I give a little wave and head out the door. I remember conceal my wand in one of the nude stocking under my desk and fix the skirt of my dress when I hear a low whistle. I'm frightened to look up, but I relax when I see Draco.
"My, do you look marvelous," he grins. He was looking very dapper in his dress robes. It was basically a simple black suit, but it was paired with a silver bow tie.
"You look exceptionally incredible as well," I smile cheekily, linking my arm in the one he offered me.
"I can't wait to boast about you to the boys. You're truly spectacular," he tells me before we head off to the dance. My feet continue to ache, but I shrug it off. I set out to have a great night, minor pain will not stop it.
The dance was already in full swing when we arrived, students trying to get as close as they could to one another without Umbridge coming in and prying them from one another. Everyone was forewarned that they would receive a months worth of detention if they had been doing something unholy. Draco and I mainly talked to one another during the beginning of the dance, but I felt myself swaying to the music.
"Come on, Draco, dance with me!" I pleaded, pulling on his arm as a child would do to their parent if they were begging to dancing.
"I think I'm content without dancing. I have a reputation to uphold," he smirks, knowing what he was doing.
"But the thing is, Malfoy," I began, "I don't."
"Oh, what did you just call me?" He laughed at my attempt to egg him on.
"You heard me, dragon boy," I snicker. I would be lying if I didn't admit to having a drink or two of the spiked punch. I'm not going to lie, I made Draco drink it first. I was still very hesitant around
"Dragon boy? That's the last draw, Granger. At first I was considering the offer you made me earlier, but I'm too offend. I refuse," he crossed his arms and pouted.
"Fine then, it's your loss," I drawl before prancing to the dance floor.
I twirl and spin and lose myself in the music as I spread my arms out, taking it all in. I look over to Draco who is smiling a genuine smile, one he doesn't show others often. I motion for him to come over, but he just laughs and runs a hand through his hair. He pays no attention to me as his view diverts to the ground. I take my chance to run over, in the painful pumps, and pull him by my side as a slow song begins to play.
"Will you dance with me now?" I ask softly.
"Of course I will, darling," he whispers, resting his forehead on mine. I place my small hand in his, the other barely resting on his shoulder while his grazes my waist.
"It's okay. I'm okay," I remind him, truly believing it. We take small steps at a time, my head now resting on his chest and his chin on my head. I move to look at him, meeting his eyes halfway there. He begins to lean in and I do the same, but I'm distracted by the searing pain suddenly brought to my wrist and ankles. I scream in pain, feeling blood drip from my arm. Suddenly, Henry comes into my peripheral view, Pansy Parkinson at his side.
"Oh my, Elora, you're bleeding!" Henry states, the sinful smirk stained on his face. Pansy laughs as his hand rests on her lower back.
"Oh please. It's only for the attention, babe," Pansy remarks, "By the way, Elora, don't bother giving Milicent the shoes back or me the bracelets. There for you to keep."
"She's not bleeding on the ballroom floor for attention, you dimwit. You cursed her, didn't you? You slimy pig. You have no self respect do you. Watch what happens when word of this gets to my father," Draco spits, drawing his wand. He's ready to attack Henry, but is stopped when I collapse due to the blood loss, "My dear, are you alright?"
'Compose yourself. Keep composed,' my mind hums. Everyone was watching now.
"I'm fine," I say as Draco helps me up, "These two can't be capable of much."
"You disgusting little mudblood! How dare you?!?" Pansy gasps, pointing her wand at me. Before the excitement continues, Professor Snape arrives to break up all the fun.
"What is going on here?" He inquires from the group of us before noticing the bleeding state I was in, "Malfoy, take Granger to the infirmary. You two, you will come with me. The dance has officially ended thanks to your arrogant classmates."
Well, it wasn't exactly a great night, now was it?
