Chapter Twenty-Five-Christmas Take Two

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way..."I mutter as I go rest my head on Draco's shoulder, yet it slyly was taken from under me, "Hey!"

"You can sit next to me when you stop singing that horrendous song," Draco says while scooting farther and farther away.

"Excuse you, my adoptive parents used to sing me that song as a child when the holidays rolled around," I tell him, but he doesn't budge at all from the space he now claimed as his own.

"That's a true tragedy," he sighed while gazing outside. We were on the train, heading home for the Christmas holiday. This year, I would once again be spending my time with the Weasley's. Instead of hiding out at 12 Grimmauld Place, we would be in their own residence, the Burrow. I wasn't at all looking forward to being stuck with Hermione, but I could find ways to busy myself easily.

"Fine then, I guess you don't want my Christmas gift then," I say while crossing my arms. To my surprise, Draco and I yet again had found a small train compartment to ourselves. We had decided to make it a sort of tradition to open our gifts to each other on the train because it was the closest to Christmas we could get.

"Well, I never said that..."Draco trailed off. He slid right back next to me, causing me to let out a hefty laugh at his actions. I reached beside me and grabbed his gift, neatly wrapped in crimson red wrapping paper, decorated with a white bow. I handed him the gift which he gingerly opened, revealing the same beautiful journal I purchased for him.

"Now we can both be creative geniuses," I joke, "I already started it for you."

"People have fallen,

Lives have been changed,

Some things will never be the same.

But as the white dove lands on the treacherous battle land,

We shall know that the peace,

Has finally made it's appearance once again," Draco reads from the first page, his fingers toying with the edge of the page, "Thank you, Elora. It is truly beautiful."

"It's nothing," I shrug it off, not wanting to dwell on it. I always started to feel awkward when people would talk about me about what I've written. I liked to let them create their own meaning behind it, mine was irrelevant once I was done writing.

"I feel like this isn't going to suffice now," Draco chuckled as he handed me a small forest green bag that was poorly stuffed with pastel green tissue paper. I smiled at the presentation before reaching in and pulling out a vintage champagne clutch. Diamond flowers decorated the handle. The fabric of the clutch reminded me of feathers as I ran my hand over it.

"This is incredible," I gasp, falling in love with the bag.

"When this is all over, when I'm not Draco Malfoy and you're not Elora Black, I'm going to take you out and show you how special you truly are," he whispers, pulling me close.

"Just Draco and Just Elora," I confirm before our lips meet in the middle.

The Burrow had a very homey feel, you could say. Things were cluttered close together and everything was slightly worn in. Ginny, Hermione, and I all shared a room, yet I made a makeshift curtain to draw close. Ginny and Hermione both felt uncomfortable by my presence, it was easy to see.

After dinner, I sat in the grass in the backyard as some of the older adults stood on the porch. My wand was laying in the grass beside me, but I paid no attention. My eyes stayed glued on the sky as the stars twinkled in the night sky and time ticked away. My mind was clear and I couldn't hear anything.

"Merry Christmas, mum and dad," I whisper to the night sky. The stars faded quickly and the sky clouded over almost instantly. I quirked my eyebrow in confusion, beginning to hear the conversation on the porch.

"There's someone out there. I can smell him, there's more than one," Lupin warned the others. He was cut off as the reeds about a meter away from me begin to burn, a blazing fire growing immensely. I instantly retracted. I fumbled around on the ground to grab my wand. I finally grasped on the familiar material and stood up. I decided rather than running away from the fire I'd go straight into the flame. I almost was there when someone called my name.

"ELORA! DON'T!" Tonks screamed.

"I will not be held back again when I can actually help," I seethe before bolting into the fire. I look around, trying to find the cause of the fire. I was met with a unruly man. His hair was completely slicked back and his shirt was torn right down the middle. His beard stuck to his neck and there was a long scar that ran straight down his chest.

"Who the hell are you?" he sneers, pointing his wand straight at me.

"I bet I could ask you the same," I say, drawing my wand, "Expelliarmus!"

"You little..." he grumbled, grabbing his wand instantly.

"Uh oh..."I mumble to myself as he raises his wand once more.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" he screeches. I duck out of the way at the last moment as the deathly green spell hits the reeds with no effect. I'm frozen on the ground in shock, not sure what to do as the man begins to walk towards me. There's a rustle of noise in the reeds when someone pops through.

"Stupefy!" Fred shouted at the man. He flew backwards, giving Fred enough time to help me off the ground and for us to run out of the fire. We just kept running and running until we were out of the fire. My foot caught on the grass and I completely flew forward. I hit the ground with a thud, but Fred quickly helps me sit up when I see Harry and Ginny run into the fire. I shakily stand up and throw my arms around Fred's neck.

"Thank you, for saving my life,"
