Libby ran as fast as she could with the now awake and crying infant. Her brown eyes looked down at her brother.
"Shh...it's ok Marc, don't cry!" She pleaded. "Please." She pleaded once more this time in a small whisper. As if the child understood his sister, the infant stopped screaming and met the girl's gaze. Making the older giggle softly.
"Your too cute." She commented as the child looked up towards the full moon. The sister followed and couldn't help but admire the moon's true beauty. "Your just like mother and I" She spoke softly as the child let out a small yawn. "It seems like only a few people can admire the moon."
The brunette pulled the child closer, feeling more confident that the child would not bite her. As she pulled her baby brother closer, another yawn escaped. "You must be tired little brother. How about I sing you a lullaby?" She questioned while making her way cautiously in the shadows of the tall trees. The baby didn't respond. Making the girl giggle softly once again. "Such a quiet one. I'm sure father would appreciate that. Alright, lets see if I remember how the song goes. Mom used to sing it to us... Ah yes!"
"Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby. Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay,And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow.Bless you with love for the road that you go" She started, her voice matching the notes almost perfectly.
"May you sail fair, to the far fields of fortune. With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet. And may you need never to banish misfortune.May you find kindness in all that you meet. May there always be angels to watch over you. To guide you each step of the way.To guard you and keep you safe from all harm.May you bring love and may you bring happiness.Be loved in return to the end of your days." The girl continued with her voice delicately matching the forest's calming aura. The child's breathing began to slow down. Along with the few tears that escaped from his previous cry.
"Now fall off to sleep, I'm not meaning to keep you.I'll just sit for a while and sing loo-li, lai-lay" The preteen finished. Just in time for a small twig to snap only a few meters away. The girl reacted immediately, pulling the baby closer with a soft grip in hopes that the child would not re-awaken. The light illuminated the teen's purple eyes creating an eerie glow. Knowing that he had been caught the boy took a few cautious steps closer. Causing the girl to take a few back. Her foot stepping on more fallen twigs and making the infant stir slightly.
"Now, now." The vampire cooed taking another long step closer. "We don't want to wake him, now do we?" Libby narrowed her eyes. "Who are you and what do you want with my brother?"
"Like I said, I am simply a follower of Dracula. I am here to take the young prince to a better place."
"A better place?" She questioned. Making the white haired vampire smirk slightly. He knew he had her now. Humans were far too easy to trick. Specifically the younger ones.
"Yes, don't you think it would be better if he went somewhere his own kind would accept him?" He started, making his way towards the girl, with a very slow pace. He didn't want to scare her off. At least not until Dracula was safe in his arms. "Do you know what priests do to vampires?" The halfling inquired.
"Heal them?"
"Yes and no, but how?" The girl shook her head. Wadim's smirk grew. "You see first, the priest bathes the vampire in holy water. Burning it's skin. Next, he rips out it's fangs and well, I don't think I should continue on. After all you are far to young to be able to handle it." The girl's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. Oh yes, he had her. He took faster steps towards the two. Until he was directly in front of the girl.
