The following day Maya trudges into the reception area of Station 19 muttering to herself. Thankfully after her almost 20 minute long complaint to Andy after their call as to why this was the worst idea EVER, Andy agreed to take the first overnight - which was last night - but that meant today was hers.
So first up was the presence at the show, to monitor the wire tap - thankfully though that would be supported by someone from the police tech team so she can maybe be as far away from Carina as is acceptable at that point.
"Roll on 1pm." She mutters to herself as she grabs the visitor pass from the reception and gets into the elevator. 1pm signals the show's end when she has a few hours off from babysitting whilst Gibson and Miller take over before she has to be at Carina's apartment at 7pm for the overnight handover.
The elevator dings, signalling her arrival to the floor as she steps out and walks toward the studio doors, as soon as she opens them she clenches her jaw as she thinks 'of course.' Seeing only Carina in the room.
Carina however seems not to have the same misgivings. "Morning Detective" she says with a smile.
Maya grunts in reply, causing Carina to frown and roll her eyes. "Well aren't you a ray of sunshine this morning!" She laughs, however the laughter dies on her lips seeing the serious and unimpressed look on Maya's face. "Okkkkaaayyyy. More grumpy than usual today it seems. Clearly you are not a morning person." She says, rolling her eyes before walking away.
Maya makes a face as Carina leaves. "Oh, you're more grumpy today..." She imitates Carina to the empty room. "Yeah when I have to spend my days with you, little miss self centred." She snarks out in reply to no one.

"Ok we are ready to go this end Detective" Jimmy Marshall the PD tech support tells Maya.
"Thanks Jimmy. Miranda, all good your end?" Maya checks.
Miranda nods before looking to Ben. "I think so. Ben? Anything to add?" She asks.
The sound engineer shakes his head. "I have everything set up this end. Jimmy and I have been through everything and aligned the frequency and information needed to drop the calls we don't need to trace - to ensure we aren't breaking any privacy laws..." He says.
Maya looks at Jimmy who nods his agreement. "Well ok then, we have what 10 minutes till the start of the show?" She asks - mostly to Miranda, but getting a response from another direction entirely.
"13 minutes actually." Carina says with a smirk.
Maya rolls her eyes and makes a noise. "Point being, we are set and ready to go. I need to check in with Detective Herrera. I will be back in..." She stops checking her watch before looking Carina dead in the eye as she says "12 minutes."
Carina either doesn't get that Maya is being overly snarky or just doesn't care as she smiles in response. "Very good Detective." She chuckles before walking past them and into the sound studio.

The show was in its final hour, and so far the most exciting thing to happen was a woman calling in who wanted to chew Carina out for giving her boyfriend advice that apparently led to her boyfriend dumping her. That, Maya enjoyed. Seeing the flustered look on Carina's face as she tried to calm the woman and talk her round. Plus hearing someone not worship her, yeah that bit was fun too.
Maya sat next to Jimmy who to his credit looked very focused and switched on as he and Ben communicated with nods, gestures and hand signals deciding when was ok to disconnect the trace and when to wait. Maya though, well she was bored with a capital B.
