"We got the fucker." Maya nods, smiling.
They are interrupted by the ringing of Andy's cell phone. She answers the call as Maya and Vic talk amongst themselves. Both of them turn their attention to Andy who's volume increases on the call, as they both stare at her expectantly.
When Andy hangs up, she turns to Maya and Vic. "Oh my god, you guys...That was San Francisco PD..."
____
"Well?!" Maya says eyes wide when Andy doesn't immediately divulge the information.
"Three unsolved murders from before he moved here, all women, all queer, all had their throats slit. The only slight difference and reason they hadn't been previously linked was there was no blue ribbon or snake patterns. But I would bet anything that this is him too. They are sending over the case files for us to review." Andy says.
"This is the pattern we were missing isn't it? I mean it has to be right? The thing Dr. Lewis' profile suggested, the victims showing a physical pattern! What's the betting that the women all share physical similarities?" Maya says.
Andy nods. "I would bet the odds are high! Files should be in my inbox in the next hour or so, we should know more then."
"Ok so we have him with this right? No way he can wriggle out of this - there's enough here to arrest him..." Maya says.
Vic looks considered before she speaks. "Honestly whilst it's STRONG evidence it is all circumstantial, none of this PHYSICALLY ties James Klein to the scenes, the victims or the murders..." She says apologetically.
"OH! What about the partial print from Victim 2's car?" Maya practically shouts.
Vic nods. "This volume of evidence circumstantial or not is damning and whilst it may not be enough for a conviction it's more than enough to obtain a warrant. You guys get a warrant, then his print and we can make the comparison. If that matches, that's enough to tie him to all of the Seattle murders because of the calling card."
"What about the SF murders?" Andy asks.
Vic shrugs. "Let's wait for the files, but unless there is a print of some kind or DNA there it could again be considered circumstantial. BUT in my experience if a killer makes a mistake it's usually at the beginning, when they first start out, we thought we had all his victims this shows we might not. So if there is a mistake and he's left physical evidence I would bet this is where we find it." She says hopefully.

An hour later, warrant approved, Maya and Andy are in the car on the way to the dealership. "I can't believe this. We finally after all this time we know who this asshole is for sure, and we are this close to putting his crazy ass in jail forever!" Maya says gesturing a small gap between her thumb and forefinger.
Andy smiles, glancing over at Maya. "I know, it feels surreal." She pauses before continuing. "Oh, I updated Sullivan and Ross earlier when you were organising the warrant. I told them all the progress on the case and the evidence, including the San Francisco update. Speaking of, files come through 10 minutes ago so once we get back we can go through them."
"Ok great." Maya says as she pulls into the dealership. "Let's go get this piece of shit." She smirks, getting out of the car, Andy following her lead as they walk into the dealership. Heading straight for the smiling, oversharing receptionist.
"Detectives!" She smiles. "What brings you back?"
"Is Mr Klein around?" Andy asks with a smile. Trying not to alert her to anything, just in case.
