Raph broke his staring contest and looked over his shoulder and deflated. He pulled me to my feet.
"Argus honked horn. Time to go." He signed.
I looked and saw the man eyed man sitting behind the wheel of the camp van. The stole brothers finally changed the engine back from the slushious machine, back on my first day. I smiled at the memory. I really would miss this place. I actually found a place where my weirdness fit, where my ADHD and Dyslexia and Anxiety had a place and not shoved away. I found family and friends.
"If school doesn't work out I'll come be a full time camper." I signed.
"Didn't I tell you?"
"No!" I send immediately. "Tell me what?"
"I'm going back. There's a public school in the Bronx. Try and finish my education. I'll be even closer."
I smiled up at him and grinned. Then frowned. "Where will you stay?"
"Mr Miles has an apartment. He's my new roomie."
I silently gasped and then broke into a huge smile. And then I laughed. I threw my arms around him giving him one last hug. He squeezed me back tighter. And then let go.
"Time to go Sunshine."
I pushed up on my toes and kissed his cheek. Andedt down the hill with Percy and I waved back one more time.
"Do I gotta have a brother to boyfriend chat?" Percy signed.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "We've been together all summer, why now?"
"Because now I can't keep an eye on you two."
I rolled my eyes and have him a shove. "You all assume I wouldn't kick his ass if he did something."
"Oh, he's terrified of you, but as a brother, it's my responsibility."
"Nico already did."
Percy hesitated, "oh. Oh good. Have you heard from him?"
I shook my head. I had thought of trying to see him through The Sight. But I knew he had his own journey. It was a quite ride back into the city. Literally. They had turned music on but I couldn't hear. I kept myself busy by doodling.
I felt a nudge. I looked up and saw Percy, he looked like he was struggling with something.
"What's up?" I signed, pulling my eyebrows together and coming my head.
"She didn't look back. Not even once!"
"Annabeth?"
He nodded. I signed and leaned my head back.
"Look dude, I don't know much about girls...never hug out long enought with friends to know. But. She likes you and something happened on your quest, and it's bugging her. Maybe it's that red head floozie, Rachel. Maybe she thinks you like Rachel. Maybe there's a prophecy line that's got her shook. But she's a teenage girl who's stubborn as Hera! She's rude and arragant. And I understand as a blind smart kid she has to be...but. You two gotta communicate better."
Percy looked like I just slapped him.
"She...likes me?"
"Holly Hera!" I signed and then slapped my forehead. I tipped my head backwards for a second. "Her and Rachel. Just raking in the ladies. But what her attitude problem is I don't know. She's always had that with me. So... I don't know."
He sighed and looked out the window, I could see his eyes darting everywhere. I knew he was milking over what I said.
The van dropped us off right at the apartment. Apparently Paul and Sally has found one that had three bedrooms, slightly bigger then theirs and was right in the middle of work and school.
