GABRIEL

I rushed into the bathroom, already smelling the metallic of blood. I should have check her bags. I should have been more careful. I should have...

I see her tear coved face and blood painted dress. It's something out of a horror movie. My own personal horror movie where my soulmate sits here in her own pain. And I can't help her fight off the monsters.

I snap out of my thoughts and rush to her side. She starts chanting I'm sorry over and over again. It breaks my heart as I watch her bleed. I tear off my shirt and cover the cuts.

Why does she do this to herself?

I can't help but let my eyes water as I watch her sitting there broken. She looked so alive just two minutes ago... what happened.

Then she mumbles something that shakes me to my core.

"I... I'm not good enough. I don't get why you'd want to be my friend. You're so ...good".

"No no no no no, Maeve, you've got to stay awake angel. I need you baby, don't leave me", I say frantically. Not good enough? She's amazing! She's beautifully curvy with a gorgeous face. She's brilliant but kind. She's humbled but not afraid to share her opinion. At least with me. I can tell how weary she is around other people but I am proud that she's already warmed up to me.

She's now unconscious and I can tell that's not good. I could heal her but she's human... my powers would be too strong for her to survive. She's so fragile and tiny. I won't get her to the hospital in time by car, so I have to fly... that's a story for another time.

Thankfully, nobody sees me as land by the emergency area. I run in with her in my arms and call for help. Immediately a doctor is rushing towards me and asks me why happened. By the tears on her face and the cuts on her arms, though, he can tell. He and a few nurse put her gently on a gurney and I wipe hair from her face.

They take her through a set of double doors and take her vitals before quickly stitching her arms' deepest cuts. The rest have bandages and Neosporin. They a nurse comes in and undresses her and put her in a hospital gown, but I turn away. Even if she's not awake I'd like to think I'm a gentleman. Thankfully it was a female, otherwise I'd be getting pretty possessive right about now.
"She's lost too much blood, she's going to need a transfusion. If you'll sign here", the attending doctor says, coming back into the room. I'm still in shock so I just nod as he hands me a form. I glance over before signing as her legal guardian at the bottom. It's a little strange to be my soulmate's guardian, but I guess it will be fine until she turns 18.
Once they test her blood type and come rushing back into her room with a blood bag, they hook it up.
"She should be concious within the hour. Just press the call button when she wakes", the doctor informs me. I nod in understanding. Looking back at her unconcious body, my eyes well up with tears and a sob escapes. She doesn't know how much I already love her. I thought wrongly that taking her away from her awful father would be enough. I was too blind to see how broken she really was. I take the hand that isn't connected to the IV and just sit there, by her side.

Like I plan to do for the rest of our lives: by her side.
