GABRIEL REACHED 10K READS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*queue celebration song*

Although compared to lots of more popular books on Wattpad this might not seem like much, it makes me really happy that so many people love it!!! I've been getting such positive feedback and it makes me really happy because I've never actually been able to share my writing before, nor did I know that I would love it just as much as I love reading. This book had a bit of a rocky start (as I wasn't entirely sure on a direction of the story) but I really hope the characters have grown with as you read further and that you've enjoyed their romancing and kissy-kissy scenes just as much as the more serious aspects.

And although I'm sure you all are special sparkly butterflies, I feel a few shoutouts are in order to a few butterflies that have been super fly lately:

     MAEVE

After the interesting spectacle in the ballroom, the terrace seemed like a much more comfortable place to be having such an intimate conversation with Gabriel's parents.

He explained to them our "situation" while I sat silently, holding his hand. We also talked about the dreams, and how the connection paved the way for our meeting. I was thankful for his digression about my past, but he shed light on the problem of my living situation and how that led to me moving in. The only thing that got Lucia quite flustered was when she found out that I'm only seventeen. But Gabriel was sure to only touch on that fact briefly. His father, Richard, was much quieter than his female counterpart, only saying at the end, "I'm proud of you son. You did the right thing".

That meant a lot to him, though, and I was relieved that he was left on good terms with both his parents when they cleared things up.

"And how do you feel, Maeve?" Lucia asks.

"I-I really like your son", I stutter nervously, "he really has done more for me than I could ever repay him, and I'm very grateful that he found me when he did. I don't think I'd still be breathing today if he hadn't", I admit, looking to Gabriel sitting beside me. He squeezes my hand reassuringly as he places a quick but gentle kiss to my forehead.

"Then welcome to the family", Richard says, standing with his wife. She makes a move to hug me, but I flinch back. Her eyebrows furrow and I stare wide-eyed in embarrassment.

"Sorry. I-I...", I blank. I don't have much of an excuse. Although I haven't had to think about it much because of my contact really being limited to just Gabriel and my few friends, I haven't worked much on my problem of physical contact with people I don't know really well. She holds out her hand instead and I take it, grateful that she didn't press for questions. I've had more than enough of my past brought up for one night.
