Isobel returns to town and stuns Alaric with her vampire attitude, and demands that Alaric arranges a meeting with her daughter Elena. When mother and daughter finally meet, Isobel refuses to answer most of Elena's questions, but reveals that she will stop at nothing to find the mysterious invention that John Gilbert has been searching for. Isobel's dangerous actions lead Stefan, Damon and Bonnie to step in and help Elena deal with the situation.

Grace spent some time with her father, while all this happened. She came back for the Founder's day, otherwise Care will kill her.

Caroline is taking pictures with Matt before the Founders' Day Parade, in their Civil War costumes.

"Say cheese!"

Caroline said to Matt,"Oh wait! Hide your cast, it's not era-appropriate!"

"Seriously?"

Caroline gave him a 'duh' look and exclaimed, "Yes!"

Grace took the picture and then Tyler arrives.

"I want one with Grace now."

Tyler took the camera and stated,"Here, I can take it."
Matt looks at him with anger.

" I'll be on the float." Tyler took the picture and then left the two girls alone. Caroline was worried for Grace , she looked extra pale today. "Hey. Are you okay? You look pale and sickly. More than your usual pale."

Grace just looked at her, squinting her eyes,"I feel like my head might explode and I feel hot and then cold. I don't know what is happening. I feel like I am forgetting something."

Caroline felt her forehead and she was burning up.
"Go home right now and sleep. Okay. I will come over tonight to make sure you're doing better."

Grace just hugged her and slowly walked away. She is on autopilot, unable to make a decision. She went home and just laid on her bed and she was out for the count.

After it was dark, Grace woke up and she was a bit better, but still not a hundred percent. She heard her phone ring and git the news that Caroline had been in an accident.She rushed downstairs and went to open the door and saw Damon and Elena on the porch talking.

"Because she did it for you. Which means that somewhere along the way, you decided that I was worth saving. And I wanted to thank you for that."

Elena stared into his eyes, "You're welcome."

He kisses her on the cheek; they look at each other. He hesitates and then he kisses her she pulls away slightly and then Damon grabs Elena and they kiss passionately for a few seconds until Grace opens the door and interrupts them. They stop and Damon tries to hide himself.

Grace decided to break up the two," It's late, you should probably come inside."

Elena looks at Damon, grabs her dress and goes into the house. Grace closes the door.

"Who are you dating again? It seems like both brothers follow you everywhere. I know there was weird vibes between you and the Salvatores. "

Elena looked interested in her words, but remember why she was there,"I don't want to talk about it."

"Well, I am going to the hospital. Care was in an accident. Oh and Jenna is at the fire department for some report. And remember to leave some boys for the rest of us."

Outside, Elena is walking towards the front door. She's on the phone with Stefan.

"I looked everywhere. Yeah, someone definitely took my stuff. I'm just gonna check on Jeremy before I go to the hospital. Can you meet me there? Okay. I love you Stefan."
She enters the house and goes to the bottom of the staircase.

Elena was shouting up the stairs," Jeremy?! Are you up?"
She hears a noise coming from the kitchen and starts walking towards it.
