WRENLEY RAUTHA'S POV.

I wake up around 1pm to the sound of a woman's voice coming from downstairs , in a split second I'm sitting upright in bed.

Does Liam have someone over ?

Perhaps the woman he's been seeing ?

Why would he take her here knowing I'm here ?

If he expects me to stay upstairs and keep quiet all day he's highly mistaken.

I get out of bed and glance at myself in the mirror while passing by the upstairs bathroom , I stop to look again and head back to my room after realising I should probably atleast put on a shirt as I only slept in boxers and shorts.

After putting on a shirt I found on my bedroom floor I finally head downstairs.

Ladies , gentlemen and nonbinary people ofcourse , let the shit show begin.

When I walk into the kitchen there's a brunette woman seemingly in her 30's making fucking pancakes in my kitchen , Liam is standing besides her laughing at something she said that I must have missed.

Well atleast the shitbag looks happy.

I clear my throat as I step into the kitchen , the woman looks up and smiles brightly while Liam glares at me over her shoulder.

"You must be Wrenley.." the woman says , I look at her and glance back at Liam without giving her an awnser to which she lets out an awkward laugh , clearly trying to keep the mood light.

I watch as my dad's expression flips completely the second she looks back at him , he puts on a smile.

He moves over to me and puts his hand on my shoulder "Son , this is Jessica. I've been wanting to introduce you guys for quite some time."

Okay pause a damn second , son ?

Never in my life have I heard him say that word.

I glare at his hand on my shoulder , my stomach turning with disgust at his touch.

"I'm sure you have Liam." I then say , he instantly shoots me a glare at the sound of his name , what does he want , for me to call him dad now after 17 years ?

Fucking asshole.

The woman named Jessica stays quiet for a few second clearly very uncomfortable.

"Honey , leave us alone or a second." Jessica then says and I nearly snap my neck with how fast I look at her , she smiles sweetly at Liam who hesitates before nodding , letting go of my shoulder before he leaves the kitchen , I watch Jessica carefully , trying to figure out what the actual fuck this woman wants from me.

She looks back at me when Liam is out of earshot.

"Listen kiddo I know-"

"Not a kid , I'm 17." I tell her , she looks away.

"Right sorry I just-"

"How well do you know him ?" I ask her.

"Um- what?" she asks , looking at me again with confusion but still that same polite smile.

"Liam." I clearify.

"We've been going out for about 8 months now.. that's why I wanted to meet you.. you see your dad he-" she continues but I correct her "He's not my dad." I say.

She chews her bottom lip before nodding "Liam told me you had a hard time after your mom.." she trails off.

I shake my head "I didn't. I never met her." I tell her , what bullshit has Liam been feeding her ?

She frowns for a second before a sad smile covers her face , jesus fuck can this woman do anything but smile ?

"Your dad-I mean Liam." she corrects herself before I get the chance and I nod for her to continue.

"Look Wrenley it was hard for him to raise you all on his own."

I grin at that one , he didn't even raise me but okay go on I guess.

"He thinks you really need a .. mother figure in your life and I .. I would be honored to be that person if you let me." she finishes , looking at me , waiting for my response.

Alright that one gets me , I snort.

I just shake my head before I burst out laughing , I turn on my heels and walk out of the kitchen.

I clap as I walk past the living room where Liam is nervously looking out of the window.

"Well done Liam. Well. Fucking. Done." I say while clapping , he doesn't even look at me tho and my grin turns into a scowl as I watch his back "Eat shit." I tell him as I head back upstairs.

When I get back in my room I stand infront of my closet , there's a letter inside a shoe box.. I never read it.. the doctors had told my mom giving birth to me was gonna be a high risk .. she had to make a choice incase shit hit the fan .. so an hour before she was meant to give birth she wrote the letter , called her dad crying and told him about the letter .. the letter she wrote for me.

She didn't tell Liam because she knew he would force her to chose herself.. my grandpa told me a lot about her growing up , he showed me pictures , she was just .. perfect.

She was fearless , stubborn.. and so loving.

My grandpa told me about things she talked about wanting for my life .. football like Liam did when he was younger .. guitar , she used to play guitar all the time while she was pregnant because she wanted to teach me one day .. my grandpa showed me videos of it and she was just god awfull at it and she knew , you could see it in the grin she shot at Liam every time she played..

I tell myself I don't care , that I don't miss her.
Because how can you miss someone you've never met ?

I would have loved her every bit as much as she seemed to love me.

I turn away from the closet as always , leaving the letter to collect dust just like it has been doing for the past 17 years.
