Chapter 22 : game day

It was game day . The bus parked outside the college at 9:10 , the twins and you barely had any time before making it onto the bus . Most of the seats were full but suguru called you over to sit next to him, he even offered the window seat . "Hey doll, you missed me?" He asked letting you sit down .

You laughed , "nahhhh mahito is actually my favourite on the team if I exclude the twins" you joked . He sighed disappointed , "even after I looked after sukuna" . You squeezed suguru's hand , "that's just what I wanted to know- who did he lose it to?"

Suguru pressed his lips together in a thin line and scrunched his nose up , "don't think I can tell you that sugar" . You huffed and started scrolling though your phone then , "consider yourself a boring trip then" you said trying not to smile. He sighed deeply , "I think her name was like monika or something she's just some rando" . You squealed , "oh my goddd I saw her at that party- who would've known sukuna would sleep with her"

"Are the twins nervous it's their first game?" Suguru asked deepening into his manspread . Forget sukuna , suguru was the true man spreader WHAT WAS THE NEED? You shook your head , "Yuji is never nervous for things like this he's only nervous about piercings or test results or choso making him study . Then sukuna just wants to be the best at everything so he's gonna try to get the ball as much as possible "

The bond you had with the twins and choso was something you knew you'd have with you for life . They'll be there when you move into your first house , they'll be there for your wedding . They'll be there for the birth of your first baby. You just know they'll always be there no matter what.

It was comforting to have such a strong bond with people like that. When you were younger you felt really uncomfortable being the only girl out of four people . You felt like your friendships with girls was harder to keep since the girls you'd try to be friends with would usually always be trying to get closer to Yuji or sukuna or choso .

However you had nobara , your roommate and now you'd consider a close friend. You both have the same major , you help each other get ready , you watch movies together. You cry together . It was like the sister you wanted . The girl friend you always wanted .The boys were nice but having a girl in your corner helped keep you sane and nobara wasn't like some of the girls from before . She was like a breath of fresh air , full of personality and excitement.

You became lost in thought while staring out of the bus window you hadn't noticed that the bus had stopped at the rival college . Your stomach began to churn . You had researched the team members and the manager, your heart dropped to your stomach when you saw the managers name : Yuki Tsukumo .As in the Yuki from high school . As in the girl who's parties you got banned from . As in choso's ex girlfriend.

The boys walked to the locker room , you had to stay outside with Toji while they dressed . Coach Shiu Kong came up to Toji and greeted him like as if they were old friends , "fushiguro how the hell are you?" Coach Kong said patting Toji on the shoulder , "come have a smoke with me while they get changed , yeah?"

Toji held his hand up , "I'm good , smiler go see if the boys are ready for me" . You nodded , he kept the nickname for you . You peaked your head into the changing rooms with your eyes closed , "are you guys ready?" You shouted out into the locker room . "We are all decent you can open your eyes" nanami said . You nodded back to Toji and walked in with him following you . The boys stood in a semi circle shape in front of you and Toji .

"Okay boys today is the very first game of the fuckin year . Don't embarrass me, our school is KNOWN for its basketball team . Don't you dare tarnish its title . We won nationals last year and I intend on winning this year too . This team has a whole new line up. New players and even a new fuckin manager"

Aoi put his hand up and Toji nodded at him for him to ask his question "is their manger also a girl?" . Toji stared at him with his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes narrowed , "yes, she is. If you're askin' that so you can throw the game so you can make that girl squeal, make her panties wet- I don't fuckin care whatever you have envisioned in your perverted mind . Just . Do not . Fuck . This . Up. 'Kay? Any questions?"

The boys shook their head and began to lead out to the gymnasium, Yuji gripped your hand , his was insanely sweaty already . "Y/n" , "Yuji?" "I'm kinda really shitting myself" he said laughing awkwardly. Yuji was never nervous for games. You tilted your head looking at him , still walking . "Why? You're good. This team is good." . "Yeah but cousin noritoshi is out there- he's really really good" he said swallowing the massive amounts of saliva his mouth was continuously producing since he was so nervous .

Noritoshi Kamo was the twins and Choso's cousin on their fathers side which is choso's side . Noritoshi was very calm very stoic , similar to choso . Noritoshi was extremely level headed and a tactical thinker , which was quite the opposite to both sukuna and Yuji . Which is probably why Yuji was so worried . You had met noritoshi many times due to birthdays , Christmas' and family holidays . You two got on well but you didn't really have a definitive opinion on him .

You and the boys walked onto the court , the bleachers were filled , you spotted choso on the front row . He smiled at you as you waved at him , sparking the twins attention and them waving at him too before they both ran off practising before the game . You sat down on one of the court side benches next to Toji , "how're you feeling about this game smiler- feel like you know these boys more than me" . You hummed with uncertainty , "I didn't know nortitoshi was playing" . Toji tsked , "oh yeah the blondie manager asked him to sub in- got rid of one of their best point guards for him. I don't see why he doesn't look all that special"

"He's Yuji and Sukuna's cousin, then yuki- she uh- we have history. She knows Yuji will want to go soft against a family member ." . Toji whistled , "sly move- but sukuna he won't go easy on anyone so it'll be okay" . You hummed again , "I think it'll be neck and neck" . "We'll see"
