Chapter 38 : national anthem

You stare at kento in surprise , "are you asking me on a date?" . Kento looked away then looked back at you , "something like that" . You smiled at him , you haven't been asked out on a date since high school . Your first college date . You couldn't wait to announce to the boys .

You scoffed at your phone and prayed that they were just joking and wouldn't actually go through with practically stalking your date with kento . Kento carried your bag and lead you to his car , it was white , fairly modern . It was extremely clean - you had expectations of kento being a neat freak but his car was the definition of pristine .

He put your bag in his trunk and open the passenger door for you to get in, you smiled at him and sat down buckling yourself in . He then drove you to the coffee shop , you both sat down at a table on the elevated floor nearing the back . A group of three boys walked in about three minutes later , all dressed in black with sunglasses on . SUNGLASSES IN FALL? SUNGLASSES AT 6:34 PM? THE SUN HAS SET. They scanned the room till sukuna shouted , "THERE" then they all looked away when you whipped your head around to look at them .

You turned to look at kento who held his coffee in his hand , "is that?" , "don't look at them just pretend they aren't here- I'm so embarrassed". Kento's expression was soft , an almost smile . "I think it's nice they care so much- I mean I see sukuna throwing punches at any man who happens to breathe wrong around you , I'm honestly a bit scared to be sat this close to you knowing he's watching my every move" kento said with a monotonous smile. You shook your head , "he's soft I promise- they all are. Especially choso" . "You admire him don't you? Were you two ever a thing? If I'm honest you and Yuji look like you'd be more likely to be a couple from surface level but once you and choso start talking - you are both always mentioned at least once in every conversation" kento said sipping his coffee.

Your cheeks flushed , you didn't know choso talked about you so much , before realising and shaking your head , "let's not talk about them- talk to me about you Kento I feel like I never see you" . Kento cracks his knuckles , "I'm barely ever out. I work , I study , I barely go to parties . Pretty boring if I saw myself from an outsider perspective" he said weakly . "I think you're cool" you said lightly , his lips curled upwards , "yeah? You think so?" . "Just how you play basketball- you're like a powerhouse . Then how you write stuff down so easily , you're so smart . You always look well put together , you're well spoken and normally very calm and rational. Not to mention your insane physique , I wouldn't think you'd be so ripped on first glance" you began to ramble before stopping yourself . Kento's cheeks and ears were now a rosy pink color, "I didn't think you'd notice me that much." He said bashfully .

You grabbed his hand and smiled before quickly dropping it when you heard a loud gasp from who you could assume was Yuji . The date had come to a close , you learned new things about kento and were able to grow closer to him . He's cute . He walked you outside but to your surprise he wasn't gonna take you back to your dorm , choso put his hand on your shoulder , " I'll take her, don't worry kento you can go home to your frat quicker , you won't be taking her home this time" choso's grip was firm , he was smiling . Kento looked at choso confused before nodding , "have a goodnight y/n I hope to take you on a better more private date next time" he said smiling before getting into his car , "next time?" Yuji said confused , "there will be a next time? Did you agree already?" He asked another question straight after finishing his last .

You shook your head , "no- well not yet but I probably will" you shrugged , maybe kento will be your first college fling boyfriend thing. You didn't know yet . Yuji grinned , "awesome! Kento is totally cool , totally ripped too have you seen his bod?" Yuji asked giggling , sukuna snorted , "pause you've been checking him out?" "NOIHAVENT" Yuji responded quickly .

You had finally gotten back to your dorm room , you placed your bag down and turned your light on to see satoru
