The faint sound of a knock on the bedroom door gently awakened Mon. As she slowly roused from sleep, she took a moment to orient herself to her surroundings. Then, she noticed the warmth of a body nestled under the blanket beside her.

The memories of the moments shared with Sam before they had drifted off to sleep came flooding back to her.

She carefully turned her body around and gently played with the woman's long, dark hair.

She feels absolutely no regrets about how things have unfolded. Every moment has been incredibly enjoyable for her. Despite her initial intentions, she's finding it increasingly difficult to deny the deepening emotions she has been developing for Sam over the past months. It's becoming evident to her that she is starting to develop strong feelings for this woman, despite the previous resolve she had never to allow herself to do so.

But long story short, here they are. After spending time together, sleeping in the same bed, going on vacations, having deep conversations, and most importantly, raising a child together.

Sam is becoming more than a frenemy. She's becoming something that Mon can't quite put a label into it just yet. And she hoped that it would be the same for Sam.

She hoped that she would not be using her as she had done with other girls. She hopes that Sam will see more than sex, especially now that they have Zoe in their lives.

Another faint knock was heard, and Mon slowly removed Sam's hands, which were around her waist. She hopped out of bed and tip-toed to the bedroom door, but before that, she grabbed Sam's robe and put it on.

When she finally opened the door, Hiri held a fussy Zoe.

Mon: Oh, my baby!

Hiri: I'm sorry, Ms. Mon. She started to get fussy, and I think she's tired now.

Mon: No worries, Hiri. Thank you for taking care of her for us.

Hiri carefully passed little Zoe down to Mon, supporting her with gentle hands. As soon as Zoe felt Mon's comforting embrace, she nestled closer and wrapped her tiny arms around Mon's neck. Mon kissed her head full of hair.

Hiri: Ms. Mon. Zoe is lovely, and I enjoyed spending my afternoon with her.

Mon: Call me, Mon, Hiri.

Hiri smiled.

Hiri: I'll try to remember. Grandma told me that you guys will be leaving early tomorrow.

Zoe uttered a weary complaint as she leaned against Mon's comforting embrace, her exhaustion finally catching up with her.

Mon: Yes, we have a long drive, and on Monday, both Sam and I will have to return to work.

Hiri: Then it was nice meeting you, Mon, and Zoe. I hope you have a safe drive back home. Please tell Ms. Sam I wish her well and hope to see you all soon, especially little Zoe.

Mon: thank you, Hiri. Have a good night!

The young girl waved goodbye, and Mon turned around to enter the bedroom.

Sam was still fast asleep, so Mon decided to give Zoe a quick bath. The little girl was visibly tired, but Mon figured a bath before bed would help her sleep better.

After bathing her, she prepared a bottle of warm milk and nestled her between Sam and herself. Zoe closed her eyes as soon as her head touched the comfortable bed.

While in bed, Mon had nothing else to do besides looking at the two beautiful girls lying next to her. She possessed the most endearing smile that captured the essence of falling in love for the first time. It was the type of smile that no amount of negativity toward the person could erase from your face. But Mon wanst aware of that yet.
