first bike ride
It was a particularly sunny day, the kind of day that seemed to have been designed specifically for outdoor adventures. The sky was a flawless expanse of blue, with not a single cloud in sight. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm and golden light over everything it touched.
The river beside which Rina and Satoru stood glistened like a ribbon of liquid silver, reflecting the sun's rays in a dazzling display. The air was filled with the gentle hum of insects, the occasional chirp of birds, and the soft rustling of leaves in the mild breeze.
Rina, who had just joined Jujutsu High, was determined to learn how to ride a bike. She stood by the river, nervously adjusting her grip on the handlebars of a brand-new, sky-blue bicycle. She wore a simple white tank top and a pair of denim shorts, her feet clad in sturdy sneakers. Her long hair was pulled back into a ponytail, the ends swaying slightly in the breeze.
Rina's childhood had been marked by tragedy; her parents and older brother, Choso, had been killed when she was very young. Raised in a harsh world that demanded she focus solely on combat skills, she had grown up knowing how to fight but not how to experience the simple joys of childhood.
Riding a bike, something she had never learned amidst her early training, was a step towards reclaiming a piece of that lost innocence.
Satoru, ever the enthusiastic companion, was beside her. He had already mastered the art of biking years ago and was eager to pass on his knowledge. He was dressed in a loose-fitting, light gray T-shirt and cargo shorts, his feet also in sneakers. His ever-present sunglasses were perched atop his head, keeping his unruly hair in place.
"Okay, Rina," Satoru said, his tone encouraging. "Just remember to keep your balance and don't be afraid to pedal. I'm right here with you."
Rina nodded, her grip tightening on the handlebars. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "Alright, let's do this."
