Daylight had fallen to darkness. Marty and Jamie were still stuck in Biff's garage waiting for Doc to rescue them. Tension was slowly coming back to them as Marty over time got worried for his boyfriend. He was hiding it on the outside but on the inside, he was afraid that Jamie could disappear at any second.
He was over in the corner of the garage while Jamie was sitting in the middle seat of Biff's car. He couldn't take his eyes off of him. He didn't know why he couldn't stop staring at him, but it felt that if he looked away, even for a millisecond, he would vanish out of plain sight.
His mind was riddled with thoughts and possibilities of what could happen, and they all frightened him. However, he wondered what could happen if Jamie got erased yet they managed to complete the mission and restore the timeline. Would Jamie appear right back in front of them safe and unscathed, or would he be gone, forever?
"Marty?" Jamie's voice broke him out of his thinking. He looks to see his boyfriend, sitting in the middle seat of the car, luckily in one piece, hand still in his pocket to avoid seeing his own hand fading in and out.
Marty just tilted his head embarrassed again that Jamie caught him staring down at him again. Jamie just smiled at him.
"You're worried, aren't you?" Jamie asked furrowing his brows.
"Yes, I am," Marty nodded before looking up at him. "I'm more worried about you though,"
The two fell into an awkward silence, given what they'd gone through it seemed as if their entire joy and happiness from what they witnessed went away ever since stepping foot back into that horrifying reality that they hoped to fix.
"I always enjoy the way you look at me," Jamie said trying to lighten up the mood, Marty just smiled before looking up at him.
"What can I say, can't get enough of the most handsome man in the world?" Marty said, smirking at him. He got into the back seat and sat beside him
"And that would be you?" Jamie recalled Marty's joke from earlier
"I'd call myself the second best. The first would be right in front of me" Marty winked causing Jamie to snicker at his comment. Marty cleared his throat before asking out of curiosity yet concern.
"How's your hand holding up?"
Jamie lifted his hand out of his pocket. His hand was still fading in and out but just seeing it left him still feeling uneasy.
"Nothing's changed, yet I still feel like I'm gonna faint any second now,"
"It's going to be alright Jamie, we'll fix it before it gets worse," Marty said, squeezing his right hand tightly to assure his safety.
"I sure hope so," Jamie said to himself while sighing
"Biff? Biff? Where are you going now?"
"I told you, Grandma, I'm going to the dance!" Biff's voice boomed from outside. Marty jumped out of the car and looked through one of the windows to see Biff standing in the driveway.
