" See, I've come to burn your kingdom down
And no rivers and no lakes can put the fire out
I'm gonna raise the stakes
I'm gonna smoke you out." - Seven Devils by Florence & The Machine

My eyes were glued to the guards bringing Aegon in, he was in a box. A fucking box. Helaena stood next to me, as I grabbed her hand. It made me sick because I knew who did it, Ameond did it. But could he be blamed? He was bullied by Aegon for years. I don't even want to know what else had happened during those years.

I watched as they took him away to his chambers so they could try to keep him alive. No one knew if he would live. My heart broke that I couldn't be there in time. Who would rule now? In place of Aegon?

" You should go to him." Helaena softly spoke, as she rubbed my arm.

I slowly made my way to his chambers, I watched everyone rush in and out. I stood in front of the door, scared to walk in. But I did nonetheless. I knew it was bad but watching everyone rush around Aegon, as he laid in bed, it took my breath away. Alicent stood near the bed, as she stared at him.

She locked eyes with me, and we just stared at each other. I moved closer as they removed the armor that was stuck to his skin. They didn't know if he would make it. I felt ringing in my ears as I felt the world start to crumble. I slowly backed toward the door, and ran out of it.

I ran right into Ser Criston.

" Princess, are you alright?" He softly spoke.

" Aegon might not." I tried to speak through the tears that fell.

" He might not make it." I finally got the words out.

He sighed. " We will pray, he will."

" Prayers don't work anymore."

I moved past him, and kept walking. I didn't look up, I just kept my head down. A prayer wasn't good enough anymore. It wasn't good enough to keep him alive, it wasn't even good enough to keep myself and my child alive.

I heard footsteps behind me as I walked, I turned around, staring right at Aemond. He grabbed me by the arm.

" Are you alright? " He asked.

" And if I wasn't, what would you do?" I softly spoke.

" I promise, I won't let anyone hurt you or your child." He looked down at my stomach.

" Aegon might die, and I'll be alone raising this child." I rubbed my stomach.

" You'll never be alone and neither will your child." He quietly spoke, rubbing my stomach before walking away. I just stood there, watching him as he walked away.

I turned away, still walking. I didn't know where I was going. But I ended up, outside in the gardens again. I was tired and sad, but the tears, no longer could come out. I laid down, staring at the clouds.
