Chapter4-

A Day by the Sea

-Morning

Meher wakes up early, feeling a rare sense of determination. She stretches and looks at the clock.

Meher - "Aaj mujhe subah jaldi uthna hai. Thoda sa change chahiye."
("Today, I need to wake up early. I need a little change.")

She gets ready quickly and heads downstairs. She finds her family in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.

Neelam - "Up so early today? What are your plans?"

Meher - "I thought I'd go to the beach for a day. Need to relax a bit."

Arjun - "Beach? How did you come up with this idea?"

Meher - "Just need a mood change. It's a two-hour drive, but it will be nice."

Isha - "Wow, sounds great! Take me along next time."

Meher - "Yes, definitely. It would be nice to go with you too."

Meher greets everyone as she heads out.

Anjali - "Achha, beta, drive safe. Aur dhyaan rakhna."
("Alright, dear, drive safely. And take care.")

Rajesh - "Haan, rasta theek se dekhna aur accident se bachna."
("Yes, watch the road properly and avoid accidents.")

Arjun- "Enjoy your day! Aur beach par bahut maza aana chahiye."
("Enjoy your day! You should have a lot of fun at the beach.")

-At the beach
After a two-hour drive, Meher arrives at the beach, only to discover that there is no internet connection.

Meher - "Arrey, yahan to internet bhi nahi hai. Koi baat nahi, yeh bhi theek hai."
("Oh, there's no internet here. No worries, this is fine too.")

She walks towards the shore, feeling the cool sea breeze on her face. She watches the waves crashing against the shore, lost in thought.

As she gazes at the sea, her past memories start to resurface, but she tries to smile through her tears.

Meher - "Yeh paani ki lehrain meri purani yaadon ko bhi lehrati hain. Phir bhi, aaj achha lag raha hai."
("These waves remind me of my old memories. Still, today feels nice.")

A young girl approaches Meher, noticing her solitude.

Young Girl - "Didi, kya aap mere saath khelengi?"
("Sister, will you play with me?")

Meher smiles through her tears and nods.

Meher - "Haan, zaroor. Tum kya khelna chahogi?"
("Yes, of course. What would you like to play?")

They start playing games on the beach, building sandcastles and chasing the waves.

Young Girl - "Dii, yeh sandcastle kitna bada hoga!"
("Sisterr, how big will this sandcastle be!")

Meher - "Haan, bilkul bada! Tumhari madad se to yeh aur bhi achha lagega."
("Yes, absolutely big! With your help, it will be even better.")

While playing, the young girl starts to open up to Meher.

Young Girl - "Di, meri mummy nahi hai. Aur mere papa bhi abhi bahar kam karte hain. Main yahan akele rehti hoon."
("Sister, my mom is not here. And my dad works outside now. I stay here alone.")

Meher - "ahh, mujhee bahut bura lag raha hai tumhare liye aur Tumhare saath na hone ke liye"
("Oh, I'm so sorry. It makes me sad too that you're alone.")

The young girl's eyes well up with tears as she continues.

Young Girl - "Mujhe aksar akela pan mehsoos hota hai. Lekin jab tum mere saath khelti ho, mujhe accha lagta hai."
("I often feel lonely. But when you play with me, I feel better.")

Meher kneels down and hugs the young girl tightly.

Meher - "Main promise karti hoon ki main aksar yahan aaya karungi. Tumhara akelepan door karne ki koshish karungi."
("I promise I will come here often. I will try to ease your loneliness.")

Young Girl - "Sach mein? Aap mere liye itni acchi hain."
("Really? You're so kind to me.")

Meher - "Haan, sach mein. Tumhare saath samay bitana mujhe bhi accha lagta hai."
("Yes, really. I enjoy spending time with you too.")

Later, Meher decides to prepare a simple lunch from the ingredients she brought with her. She shares the meal with the young girl.

Meher - "Yeh lunch maine khud banaya hai. Tumhe kaisa laga?"
("I made this lunch myself. How do you like it?")

Young Girl - "Bahut accha laga! Aapne bahut accha banaya hai."
("It tastes very good! You've made it very well.")

They chat while eating, enjoying the simplicity of the moment.

Young Girl - "Aapka naam kya hai, dii?"
("What's your name, sister.?")

Meher - "Mera naam Meher hai. Aur tumhara naam?"
("My name is Meher. And yours?")

Young Girl - "Mera naam Simran hai. Aap mujhe bahut acchi lagti hain."
("My name is Simran. I really like you.")

Meher - "Shukriya, Simran. Tum bhi bahut pyari ho."
("Thank you, Simran. You're very sweet too.")

-Back home
After a wonderful day, Meher drives back home, feeling rejuvenated and peaceful. She reflects on the day's events and the connection she made with Simran.
Upon arriving, she finds her family waiting for her.

Neelam - "So, how was your day? How was the beach?"

Meher - "Very nice. Relaxing and refreshing. Some time outside was necessary."

Arjun - "So, did you get to eat?"

Meher - "Yes, I made my own lunch and ate with a little friend."

They all sit down for dinner, and Meher shares her day's experiences with them.

Shakuntala - "That's good to hear, dear. Did you talk to Simran?"

Meher - "Yes, she shared her story. I'll go to meet her again."

As Meher prepares for bed, she reflects on the day's events and feels a sense of calm.

Meher - "Today was very good. Maybe I should make some more plans for myself."

She writes in her journal, thinking about the small but meaningful experiences she had at the beach and the promise she made to Simran.
