Aditya stood frozen, the sense of familiarity sweeping over him like a wave, yet nothing seemed to make sense. The place they were in felt oddly known, but he couldn't place it. As he looked around, he felt a tight knot form in his chest, a blend of confusion and a strange sense of déjà vu. Meher, who could no longer hold her emotions in check. Her eyes filled with tears as she stepped forward. "Yeh sab... yeh sab kahan se jaan sakti ho tum?" she cried asking vikram, her voice trembling with a mix of confusion and disbelief. (How do you know all this?)
She couldn't fathom how someone could have so much knowledge of her past, especially things that were so personal to her. It was like a part of her history was being revealed by someone who had no business knowing.
As if on cue, Arjun and Shakuntala entered. Their expressions mirrored the same mix of emotion and relief, and their eyes were brimming with unshed tears. Meher wiped her eyes quickly, her thoughts racing as she tried to process the sight in front of her. "Bhai, Dadi, aap log yahan kaise?" she asked, her voice almost a whisper, as if she couldn't believe her own words. She looked from Arjun to Shakuntala and back to Aditya, her mind in turmoil. She had so many questions, but they all seemed to be locked inside her, unable to escape.
It was Arjun who stepped forward first, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. Let me explain everything to you
he said gently, his voice steady but full of emotion.
He looked at Aditya for a moment before continuing. "Aditya ka retrograde amnesia ho gaya tha aur ab uski memory wapas aa gayi hai!" he said with a hint of relief. There was a pause as Meher absorbed the words, but she couldn't make sense of it all.
(Retrograde amnesia- Retrograde amnesia occurs when a brain injury
As a result, individuals lose access to memories formed before the injury. Over time, some of these memories may gradually return as the brain heals, with memories sometimes resurfacing through familiar environments or conversations.)
Shakuntala, who had been standing quietly, stepped closer. Her voice was tender but laced with the weight of the truth. "When he was shot, the bullet hit directly to his brain, but Vikram worked tirelessly and rushed him to the hospital, saving his life. She spoke as if reliving the trauma, the fear, and the relief that followed when they thought they'd lost him forever.
Arjun, who had been quietly standing beside them, suddenly stepped forward. His eyes were red from holding back tears, and his voice cracked as he spoke. "Vikram tried calling you a lot, Meher, but you never picked up. That day was incredibly difficult for you, so I kept everything hidden. The doctors had advised that if I gave you more shock, it might worsen your condition." His words hung heavy in the air, and Meher felt a sudden weight on her chest. She hadn't known, hadn't understood why he hadn't reached out, but now it was all becoming painfully clear.
He continued, explaining the rest of the story as the pieces of the puzzle began to fit together. "And then, when Vivaan started recovering, we found Dadi and Diya, who were in need of help. So we had to make Vivaan, by taking Aditya's new identity, played this whole drama to make you both realize what was really going on."
Meher, still struggling to process everything, felt like time had slowed down around her. She blinked a few times, her mind reeling with the flood of information. "So all of this is true?"
She finally whispered, almost as if asking herself as much as she was asking Aditya.

Aditya had been silent for what felt like forever, but now, as everything settled around them, he finally spoke. His voice was calm, yet filled with a depth of emotion Meher hadn't heard in a long time. It was the kind of voice that carried everything he had been through, and everything he now felt. "Kaha tha na main tumse... jab kisi cheez ko shiddat se chaha, toh kainaat bhi usse tum tak le aati hai," he said, his words soft but sure. Didn't I tell you... when you desire something with all your heart, the universe will bring it to you?
.
After years apart, the world seemed to pause for a moment, as if holding its breath. Meher stood frozen, her heart racing with the overwhelming mix of emotions she hadn't expected to feel. She had spent so many years telling herself that everything was lost, that time had erased everything beautiful. But as his voice reached her, steady and sincere, something shifted. The air around them felt different—charged with the possibility of something they thought had vanished forever.
The sincerity in his voice made Meher pause, and she realized just how much truth there was in his words. It was as if the pain they had both carried had somehow been woven into the fabric of this very moment, transforming into something softer, something hopeful. All at once, she understood: pain wasn't just an end—it was a bridge, leading them back to each other. She had believed that this kind of reunion was impossible, that too many years had passed, too much had been lost. But standing there, looking at him, she knew something had been quietly waiting for them, something neither time nor distance could take away.
.
And as they locked eyes, words no longer seemed necessary. In their silence, they found the truth of their bond, a truth that had survived even the most painful of years.
Aakhri safah par, dono dil ek ho gaye,
Faasle tha je, ab raah ban gaye.
Sabr ki raat thi, ishq ki subah,
Taqdeer ne milaya, inki dua.
Dard ke baad, sukoon ka rang chhaya,
Unki mohabbat ne, har faasla mitaya.
Jahan thi doori, wahan ab saath hai,
Ik doosre ke saath, zindagi ka raasta saaf hai.

Its a wrapp..🥹
Quite emotional rnn but yaa here's a note to y'll
Hey everyone,
As we reach the end of Meher and Aditya's story, I want to say that sometimes love happens quickly, and maybe it's all part of a bigger plan. Their connection, though fast, felt perfect, like something meant to be from the start. It was more than just two hearts finding each other
~it was destiny at work.
I can't thank y'll enough for being a part of this journey. Writing this first book has been an incredible experience, and knowing that you've shared it with me makes it even more special. I hope you felt every emotion, every twist, and turn the way I did while writing it.!!
But don't worry, this isn't the end
stay tuned, there's more to come!
Thanks again,
[aarohi mehta]
